Default Our club picnic! The lonely ProBro.

We had our club picnic yesterday and I had my OMP 65' YAK and my EF Edge. I think I'm the only one in the club with profiles. I couldn't believe the people coming up to me and asking me about the profiles. I was doing parachutes close to the gound with my Yak. They thought I was going to crash. Then I was doing climbing inverted flat spins with the EF Edge. They thought you had to have a giant $3,000 airplane to do all this stuff. Hopefully one of these times I can make it out to a PROBRO event. It get's boring when your the only ProBro in the area.
Later,
Craig

Nah. I tell em it's fixed pitch with no gyro, a lot more challenging than a heli.

really! and the crash kit is cheaper! They will get used to it being around after a few months, and then you will have company. just be sure and tell the prospective 3-d'ers to get the right plane/engine... you'd be surprised at what they think would be a good hoverplane

Hang in there Craig. I am the lone Bro at my club, but some are beginning to 'see the light'. Got two that just picked up EF Edges, one already flying, and yep he likes it.

What do you think I feel like? I might just still be the only Pro Bro in South Africa? LOL!
The people are starting to see the light about profiles but there is not really anyone except a good friend of mine which is actually interested in flying them. Soon I tell ya, real soon! Hehehe

Wayne,
Let me know next time you come up this way to Larry's. Your also welcome to come to our field anytime. It's about 1000'x500' grass. We are about 1/2hr from Larry's.

Mike,
They can't tell me to get a helicopter. Already have one. I do less hovering with it then my profiles. The sad thing is they think I'm a great helicopter pilot. I can only hover inverted, flips, rolls, and loops. They haven't seen a real 3D heli pilot.

It would be nice to have a ProBro event in the Chicago land area. Our land owner won't let us hold any events. And we have a great location to. We are one mile east of the Chicago Land speedway and RT66 dragstrip. If any Bro's are ever in the area, email me.

I guess thats what the pro bros are about, banding together.

I cant wait till Tulsa, the only 3d move I can do is hover on the deck. Just got the hang of it last saturday, about 1 month after I bought my burrito. I have no one to show me anything else. I'm sure someone there can show me some stuff.

I am in a club with over 300 members, I have yet to see another profile out at my field.

Keep the faith guys!

Your mission is to go out into the Great Unwashed and convert them to the gospel according to profiles! Baptize them with 10% nitro / 20% oil and they will be anointed. You are the disciples! Go forth and shun persecution. Be not afraid, for the profile gods will watch over you.

If that don't work then screw 'em and move

See everybody in Nashville!

J.

Amen Brother John! Preach on!

The comment that I like is "when are you going to start flying real planes again?". This from the people that fly at an altitude of 300 feet. I always ask them "when are you going to fly down here where we can see you?". Keep on truckin'! They'll come around someday!

Stay strong, and do not falter. I was the only Pro Bro here (Wisconsin) for a long time. Now my club has 5 Bros. There are a couple more Bros not too far away either.

I love to hear, "I don't like profiles!", shortly followed by, "How do you do the one where you..." Even better is, "I don't like profiles, but yours seems to fly well."

I love to watch the "fatty fliers" (that's a non-profile pilot for the non-Bros reading) with their 100mph passes, over the next county. Their 200 foot high knife edge passes, followed by my 5 foot high 60 degree nose up 1/4 throttle passes as I yaw up into a hover. I love their cute little 4 point landings. That's two main wheels, the tail wheel, and then the spinner. After seeing that, I like to fly by, dragging the tailwheel, yell out "touch and go", and slowly pull up into a torque roll.

I was training a new pilot on this past Saturday, and took over the plane to let him wipe the sweat from his eyes. When he looked back up at the plane, it was in a hover about 25 feet off of the deck. I realized he was looking back up, and pushed the plane back level. He asked, "Did you just hover my plane?". I said, "No" and kept on flying. I just love flying with the "fatty fliers"...

There is hope Brothers! I'm starting to have some interest shown in profiles at my club (just a little, but it's a start!)! Maybe they'll see the light!

I love that! The next time there is a "4 pointer" at my field I'm gonna have to try that LOL
