Default 79" Yak E-power possibility?

I am in the middle of testing one of the big Actro 40-4 motors that HL is now carrying. It looks promising but haven't got it to the point where I am going to commit the plane to electric. It is currently swinging a CF 18-6 nitro prop at just over 8000. It takes 8800 to comfortably hover my 12 lb Katana. The Yak will be lighter but not sure if it will be enough lighter. I'm also having trouble with the ESC. I don't think it is putting out full power. More testing over the weekend.
Here's a pic of my test rig.

Matt, I hope the numbers work out for you. The Yak will be sweet E- powered.
BTW, I dont care how much power you put on your test stand I dont think it will fly well

Dang Matt, did you hit the lotto or something?? The bigger epower stuff is really out of reach for us non lotto winning folks!

Good luck with the project. It sure sounds looks like you know what your doing anyway!

The only thing on that bench I paid for was the CF prop. I am testing the system for a big scale heli. It may find it's way into my Yak from time to time though if it meets my specs. There is nearly $1500 in hardware on that test stand. I may try it even if it doesn't put out as much as I want. I think it would be cool just to fly the Yak a couple times on e-power even if it didn't have enough to hang on the prop. I'm waiting on another ESC now as the one I have isn't getting the job done to my satisfaction.
