The black is a little hard to see at a distance. I covered my Mojo 40 in black and while it looks cool it is hard to see on a cloudy day if you get too far out! I think that I may cover this one yellow or something else easy to see!
Here are some pictures to get caught up on my build.

Paul, you asked for some pictures of the pre-cut parts not fitting with the plans. Here are a couple of shots of the ailerons. I had the part in the right position on one end and you can see that it doesn't line up.

That's all for tonight. I laid out the plans for the fuse, started covering it with wax paper, then ran out of wax paper before I could finish! [X(][>:][&o] I'll pick up some more wax paper tomorrow and get back on it!

I had no problems with my blueprints Paul. They were all right on the money. This has got to be one of the easiest kits I've ever slapped together. The engineering with the CF tube and how the plywood engine mount slides into the wing is awesome. It should be dead nuts square to the wing. How easy is that?? No sanding on the TE for the hinges because of the tri stock, which is so simple. Pauly deffinetly used the KISS meathod. Keep it simple stupid.
Hey razor. I got my wing covered tonight. Went with black and neon green. I had the same color on a 4* and was great for visibility. But like you said on hazy days it is harder to see. I don't plan on getting it out too far anyways. I should have this thing all covered by tomorrow night and maybe assembled. We'll see...........

No biggie Paul! I did get one of the first run kits, so that may be the reason for it. It was nothing that I couldn't get around!
This is one of the easiest kits that I've ever built! It just falls together. Every Swany kit that I've ever built has been that way! Now if they would just cover themselves........................................ ................................

Yeah. I think that Gator guy should be shipped with every kit. Then when the kit is built, he can cover it. I hate covering airplanes. I don't know why. But I do.......errrrrrr

Here are a couple of shots of the fuse assembly. This is more like a jigsaw puzzle than an airplane kit! Most of the fuse consists of machined parts, so all you have to do is put them together over the plans and cut just a few sticks! it doesn't get any easier than that!

Hey Razor. Here's a couple pics of the Mojo 60. I'm almost finished with the assembly. I have it all covered and glued the top part of the fuse. to the wing and engine mount. Tomorrow I'll attach the bottom and get the CF rod glued down good.
I'm not trying to hijack your thread, just didn't want to start another thread for a couple pics. sorry .. oh the pics aren't that great. was taken down in my basement.

Lookin good Razor.
Just be careful with the fuse. after you take it off the board. It is kind of a PITA to cover it when the only thing holding the 2 halves together is the verticle trailing edge..

Nice work guys!!
I know what you mean about the covering the fuse... I like to tack on a 5/16" sq brace between the two halves in the front while I cover it... Helps keep it together and is easy to remove when you're ready for final assembly...

razorback - looking at the last photo I see the sheer webs in the middle of the wing bay. i was always under the impression that the webs should butt up to the ribs at least on one side. also on the 40 size the plans call for four webs per side I think you have three.
You may have everything perfect, what do you think Swany?

Looks great to me! 3 sheer webs per side is correct... for both the 40 and the 60... Some of the earlier manuals had a typo.... The function of the sheer webs is to keep the wing from colapsing... I just installed mine in the middle of the bay like Razor did... It would probably be better to have them touch the rib, but the material was only 4" wide and the bay is bigger than that.... I think they way they are installed will get the job done!
Hey Razor... If you're looking for a scheme... you could always do something simular to what I did except with a big "R" instead of an "S"....

I put my sheer webs butted right next to the ribs. That way it will make for a more rigid wing. But it shouldn't matter much at all.
I just got back from my LHS and got pushrods and clevises. My engine should be here today. I got a ST 90 for $80 off of the marketplace. I still have the ST 75 with the bad bearings. The guy told me just to keep it for parts. He refunded my money also. He was a good guy to deal with. Hopefully this ST90 will be good. He said low run time and it is Italian made. I don't think the quality has dropped since they moved to china though. Everyone thinks that the quality drops, but all they did was move the molds to china. I'm sure some things have changed, but not for the bad. I have a ST2300 and it is good quality and runs awesome. For $150 you can't beat a 1.40 that runs almost as strong as a $280 OS 1.60.

Well, I've at least got my colors picked out. I went through my stash of monokote to see what I had the most of and made my decision last night. It's tough to not have a LHS around to run out to and buy stuff like that! [>:]

Well that's what I did Razor. I really didn't want to toss in another 25-30 bux for covering and had a crap load of covering laying around. Decided on colors by what I had layin around. You can get creative with it that way.
My engine just arrived. Looks really nice. Smooth bearings good compression. We'll see how she runs soon.
Wonder what prop. I should put on it??? got a good suggestion??

Think I may get a mojo 60 when and (if), no, just (when), my Funtana 40 goes in. I have a mag 91 that should work. But, does the wing come off for transporting or is it fixed?

Swanny!
I'm putting a ST 90 in it that is the older Italian made version. Awesome compression and smooth bearings. What prop. would you suggest for me? Tower says a 13-6. But I was thinking more on a 14 or 15. I want slow flight good torque.
I'm almost done with mine. Currently putting the servos, pushrods, and control horns in it. Next will be engine and fuel tank. Then it will be finished. I'll be wishing for good weather then.
