Default Sledge

I would like to make a few comments on the Sledge. I'm flying mine with a Saito .72, and a little over 4 1/2 pounds. It will flat spin upright or inverted, and at times hold altitude or climb. It will transition from a upright flat spin to a Knife edge spin and back with no problems. This airplane was my first to really use a four stroke engine, and it doesn't have the rocket type vertical of the two stroke. It is a very good flying airplane. My new Sledge has been modified a little to save weight, and a few aerodynamic changes. The weight is 31/4 pounds ready to fly with a HP.40 for power. This airplane is awesome it will do climbing tornadoes, as well as inverted flat spins. The upright flat spins I've not got climbing yet. It will do the most violent water fall I've ever seen. It rotates somewhere between the nose and the wing leading edge. Tom

I have both and decided on the ys 63. The saito and ys are about the same, but i would go with the ys for power to weight . i think the ys is a much more powerfull engine pound for pound. But thats just 2cents worth.

How much is the ys 63?

How about a tt.46? How would this do? Or is this plane to heavy?

Hey Jeff,
When are ya gonna come down to posey patch and fly with us again? I also fly regularly at Bluegrass Feild in Niagra KY. It's a much better feild than Posey Patch. Anyway, the invitation stands for either place.

Default Funfly2005

I have Satio 72 on my CG 330. It flies great, would not change a thing.
I am building a OMP 540, I plan on using a 46 two stroke. Where will the engine end up being mounted, toward the front, middle or rear of the mounts ?

Default Fun Fly * Memphis*

Chad, the fun fly is in Memphis, go to www.the******************.com and it has info. BTW it is a great website you will like it. Jeff W. [/B][/QUOTE]

Chad,
This is what you have been looking for!
I'll have to pull some late night and early mornings and try and get the Giant Edge 540 done.
I paid a visit to the Propbusters field many Moons ago. A friend
(David Hearn) used to fly there.

Will there be competition?

Default Sledge

Wayne, it flies better than it looks. The weight savings was worth the effort. I still have a ounce or more that I will remove.
jstyme4, the covering did take time, but doesn't any cover job. The lettering was hand cut Ultracote. The bottom has 2 inch red and white checkers. Tom

Default Sledge Short Kit

I am interested in the Sledge short Kit, but I would like to get the latest plans. Does anybody know:

1. When the revised plans will be ready?

2. The cost of the short kit?

Thanks,

Bruce

CU IN, Morris will sell the short kit for $49 I think. Not sure on that price but it is close. No need to wait on plan revisions, build it stock and it is fine. The only change is the ailerons will be built 1/4" farther from the fuse, so they will be 1/4" shorter in total length. You should be able to do that without revised plans as that is an easy change. Everything else is staying the same. Jeff Williams

I ordered mine from the Hobby Shop that you recommended in another thread ! Did I take the last one ? Sorry, but you gave us that source yourself.
Before I ordered it from that Hobby Shop, I called Goldberg directly, and they said that they will not be selling directly anymore, and you have to order them from Tower. The only problem was that they had not send any out to Tower yet.

By the way, I maiden flew my 330 this Saturday, and it did just great. I like it much better then the Top Cap. Flat spins are absolutely crazy.
