RE: Katana V2 70 - 2 Piece Wing
I am not sure that OMP will have one. John said that he would check and get back with me tomorrow. If any of you guys might have one or know of someone that might have one if you could just shoot me an email or pm.
I would really appreciate it.
Thanks

I think we can help you out. We have one scratch and dent complete plane with very minor damage for sal and maybe a couple other wings with minor shipping damage. May need some minor repairs but if your wing is completely totalled this may be the fastest solution. I'm looking at a couple wings now that have popped ribs from the wonderful shippers. Call John tonight at OMP and make a deal!

RE: Katana V2 70 - 2 Piece Wing
I have a Saito .91 on the plane (not broken completely in but has been running very consistent) and I was letting a guy that is a good pilot fly it. He was hovering in about a 20 mph wind about 10 ft off the deck. The engine bobbled and you know what happened next. I was out on the runway picking up pieces. The wing took such a shot that it actually indented the hardwood that is up front. It broke almost all of the ribs in the wing and it tore the whole end of the wing off. I think that I maybe could have fixed it until I got it home and unloaded and let my 22 month old twins get to close to the wing. They thought that all of that coating that looked like pretty streamers on the wing needed to come off and well just like when Humpty Dumpty fell. I could not figure out how to put all the pieces back together again.......lol.

Hey guys......I have a really basic question.....but where are routing your receiver antenna?? Do you just let it hang loose in the left wing or is there a better way to do this?
Thanks in advance,
Keith

Harley, run the wire through the leading edge compartment
right through the rib bays. what i did was drill a hole on the root end
tied a small nut to some floss and fished it through
tomorrow is maiden day will have vid & pic's
whether it be Good, bad, or ugly
Check pic's

Well to hell with it!
took to the air no prob,3 clicks down 3 clicks L aileron
every thing was great ,a real light fly er wind was strong right across the runway
i was up high when i lost throttle 5 min into maiden,it is being pushed over the pits
from the wind, thought i was going to loose it into the pits, when it cleared the screen canopy
my thought was OK i got it back down, she hit the strip hard, Ohh yeaahh i saved it [X(]
that's when it went full throttle and started to climb away towards the bay waters that surround our field
at that split second i said to hell with it.
Either i am going to loose everything to the salt water or i will have a short walk to pick up the pieces.
That's when i pulled back on the right stick she looped out at 20 feet and planted on the far side of the runway.
fat chance i will try to repair, all the king horses & all the kings men could not put the katana back together again.

E-MO do you think that you might want to part with the wing, it looks okay..........lol. Mine was kinda twisted a but nothing like that. My fuse did suffer some damage and was broken in several spots but a little peeling of the ultracote and some CA and epoxy and the fuse is fine on mine now. On the other hand my wing looked a whole lot worse than you plane especially when the crumb snatchers got finished with it.
Sorry about your plane but trust me it is worth fixing or replacing. I think that OMP may have an extra fuse and from the looks of it a new fuse and you would be back in business.

Rush: the leading edge is shattered & multiple rib's broken
i just got done taking the gear off & the wings are a loss
ever since i put my trainer in 4 years ago & tried in vain to repair it
the frustration factor is not in my best interest(5 min epoxy all over my hands & legs)
gave me this disposition, in the trash it goes, except for a souvenir
