Default WASP Lite Covering

I am about to start building a WASP. Would some of the light weight coverings, like Ultracote Lite, be strong enough yet help keep the weight down? This design doesn't seem to rely on the covering for its strength.

Thanks,
Gregg

I used standard Monokote on mine and got the weight down to 3 lbs. 10 oz. It flew really well at this weight.

Default Nelson LiteFILM

You could save at least 4-5 oz or more if you used Nelson Litefilm. Its a super light weight covering used on parkflyers and other aircraft. It has been used on Fun fly's just fine. It weighs .6 oz per sq. yard.

Default Wasp

Hey! I'm getting ready to build a wasp also. I'm just waiting on big blasted airplane truck to deliver my superiorbalsa order! I was wondering the exact same thing about covering. I know the stuff the Aussie's use is called OzCover. The upside to this stuff is that it is light, the downside is that it must be colored (that makes it heavier). It can be found at HTTP://home1.gte.net/res0bf5n .
Also, I didn't like the single wheel landing gear so I found a set of carbon fiber gear at http://moosecarbonfiber.tripod.com/Landinggear.html
At 1-2 oz for the whole gear, it almost seems like it might belighter than that nose gear wire. I just hope that it is big enough.

Keep me posted as to how you come out with your wasp

This is my newest, covered with the above mentioned Nelson Litefilm. It did indeed save about 4 1/2 oz.
