I'm probably going to fly it before I redo the wings.... For all you 60 size SoDo guys.... Did you to a thru bolt at the trailing edge of the wing or did you put blind nuts in?

Also... This SuDo had foam on the wing root plate.... Seems to make the wing fitment kinda spongy.... I'm thinking I'll nix the foam and cut a new dowel for the wing support. I think it should be pretty stiff when assembled... I shouldn't be able to flex the wings a bunch.

I use the bolt with a locknut on the other side.
Easy to get on and off.

My wings have stayed tight on the dowell with no problems.

Nope.
The wings just butt up to the fuse.

Paul,

I just noticed something else he did wrong. The hatch for the fuse is on the wrong side.

I cant think of a reason that would make it matter. But in any case he did it wrong. LOL

Damn.... Oh well... This ones turning out to be a project and a half..... Take a look at the motor mount beams... Do the look like they've been offset the wrong way? What did your's come out to Wayne?

Maybe I'll have to build an ecstasy after this....

Paul,

The is no "thrust" offset in the motor beams. The beams are not centered on the fuse however.

If you are looking down at the top of the fuse with the nose pointing forward the beams are farther to the right. They are not centered on the fuse..

Wayne - weird about the beam offset... seams like they should be offset the other way... Do you have any right thrust in yours?

Michael - I might if I need the extra power...

Yeah I though the same thing as well. Probably wouldnt matter though.

I have one washer under each of the front motor bolts to give it some right thrust. Seems to be ok with that ammount.

On the plans the CG has a rearmost point of the leading edge of the wing dowel. From there it is suggested as far as 2 inches forward of that point. That's the range given.

Paul.

The intructions have you put a doubler under the top piece of the forward section of the fuse just in front of the canopy. Then you are supposed to drill it so you can screw a hook in there for balancing. Is there a small hole in front of the fuse that looks like it may have been balanced that way?
I will measure mine today and let you know where it is just in case yours isnt done like this.

I flew mine yesterday. What a cool plane.
We got a pic of me catching it from a hover.

Did any of you guys use the stock landing gear? That stuff has got to weigh a ton!!! I'm think of making my own or drilling some holes in the stock gear.
