Here are some pics of the Radical 330. I haven't accomplished much. I've cut away the center of the wing and masked one side for gluing. I think I will drill the holes for the engine before I glue the wing and the fuse together. That way I can use my drill press. I might drill servo screw holes to simplify construction. Maybe if I mount the conduit for the tail servos I can draw a line though the wing hole to get the curve right where the conduit meets the wing.

Went ahead and mounted the Saito 82. Will remove it and mount the wing.

Great Job hutchi! Did you make any changes or modifications? I noticed the size of the engine bolts were wrong in the instruction book.

Mount the engine last, then you can position it for correct CG.
You can still use a drill press , just let the nose on the rest and the
fuse & wing hang down while you drill. Thats what I do!

Thanks decay. I'm sure I'll still be nose heavy with that engine. I pushed it back as far as I could. I'll use your suggestion on my next plane. I plan to get EF Yak when they come in.

Here is how a friend of mine eliminated the square tube on a Extreme 300 which is the same plane. I added 4-40 push rods to the elevator and rudder.

I glued the wing in with gorilla glue.

theo63, in my radical i used all 3004 futabas for all surfaces and a mini hs 81 for throttle, also i used a tower hobbies reciver and a 1650 mah nickel metal battery. a mini is required for the throttle.

flew my dad's on saturday, no issues, couple clicks here and there and then wring it out.
tt.46,ds821's on surfaces, hs81 throttle, fromeco 2600 lion, from. reg, ar7000 reciever, used stock linkages-- .125 id. carbon tube ca'd over rods to stiffen, locktite 'sumo' glue on wing and horiz., small fillet of epoxy and micro ballons on the fuse/wing joint(just to prevent any fuel damage), omp'krazy legs' landing gear(he's pretty rough on the aluminum gear). built in 2 1/2 nights.came out lighter than the first. harrier's upright with slight rock, invert. solid, blenders good-will flatten out fast, walls stop when asked, rolling circles/harrier good, water falls--in/out great, pin wheels good, suicides awesome(full power dive, come as close to the ground as you dare, usually right when you pucker up. chop throttle and apply full up or down, plane flattens out and looses all air speed imediatly.
i think we measured the cg at 6-6 1/4'' back, engine mounted as far back on rails as poss, batt.and reg rearward wing, reciever in front of wing. just slapped this thing together and went for care free flying. feels like 4lbs-ish

Hey baja,

How do you guys like those OMP Krazy Legs? How are they better than the stock ones? Are they any lighter? Will they break before the plane does? I've had two Extreme 330's with the aluminum legs that damage the fuse if you land a little hard.

the krazy legs are good, they wont bend like aluminum---biggest prob w/alum gear---once you rebend the alum ones a few times
they get weak--the krazy legs aren't much lighter than stock---made from fiberglass---have to drill the upper mount holes---we like 'em cause they will take a lot of abuse and come back for more----yes if you land/crash hard enough the fuse will break first---our buddy Robb has a set on his 80'' edge for several years now---my dads has taken punishment for over a year, and onto plane #2

Well I went ahead and put the stock LG on the plane. All I have left to do is CA the hinges and put the electronics in. I think my power switch and charge jack are going on the top of the wing.

I just purchased this plane from tower. Waiting on an EF yak at the moment and got this to hold me over. How was the build? Anyhting quirky on the build or in the air? Does anyone have an AUW of their plane and if so with what equipment? Are there any easy ways to make this plane lighter? Thanks.
BTW mine will have a magnum 52 2 stroke on it with a tower muffler.

I guess I'll join the fun! I purchased one from my local hobby shop after I dorked a Katana. I appreciate all the efforts of everyone posting pics. Is anyone flying with a Saito 72? I guess I could tear my trusty 50 sx from the well used Twist, that would yank her around. Any reports with a 72 would be nice

Mine went together nice. Nothing warped in the kit I received. Built nice and square. As far as building it lighter, I haven't found a way unless you spend alot of money on radio equipment and go with mini servos. I don't think it would be worth the extra expense. I thought about lighter landing gear but didn't come up with any good solutions. I'm just building mine stock.

It's the same plane. If you download the manual there are pictures of the Extreme 330 in it.
