I find that at 4.75 CG it can do pretty good flat spin, hover, and waterfall. At 5" CG it harriers a little better. Aft of 5" and the plane will start over-reacting to inputs. So I would balance it at 5" w/o fuel, which means about 4.75" w/ fuel.

Just flew mine today and can't wait to get out there again. My CG is perfect for my lack of 3D skill at 5" with no weight added.

Took off in ten feet at the most with my 'just broken in' OS FS-70. I was also prop-hanging at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. I'm running a 11x9 prop for another two to three tanks and will try a 12x4 or thereabouts. I've got an APC 13x6 but am thinking that'll be too much for the 4 stroke 70.

This is my second low winger, and is a handful without low rates (I didn't bother before the first flight = stupid). I setup my 9C for triple rates at 1/2", 3/4", and finally 100% which is like 2" on the rudder and 1.75" on the ailerons. KICK BUTT!!!

Tried a waterfall maneuver a couple of times. It didn't end up looking like a waterfall, but was impressive looking nonetheless (full throw and rates). People at the field watching were like, WOW!!!

This plane's a keeper. Oh the OS FS-70 is awesome too!

Now if I can only figure out how to apply the big 'Extreme 330' decals.

Actually, 13x6 is perfect for the 70 and the plane.

Thanks seanychen, I'll use that 13x6. It's an APC so won't be chunking as much air and got plenty of ground clearance for it too.

How'd you install your large decals?

Hey, Stik-n-Rdr a 12x4 would be way too small. Me and my flying buddy both use 13x4 Zingers on a O.S. .52 Surpass and they're swinging at 11,000 rpm. And yep they'll hover between 1/2 and 3/4 throttle. We're fixing to try the .70 surpass on the G. Edge 540 and try a 14x4 Zinger. I've read that's what others have used and can you say "blast-off"

I get 10 minutes on mine with a 46fx and Tower Muffler!!! Running rich as you can see in the pic.

Pretty good., Hate to lean it out cuz I hate burned out engines. I am losing the bearing on thsi one already. Used the engine for 3 months and flew about 5 times everyday give or take a few flights. O well. Having Fun as you can see

Dude, clue me in. How do I get a job like yours where I can fly five times a day?

Nice pic though. Looks like you're flying a good lookin helicopter or something. Good "Stik-n-Rdr" flying though dude (no pun intended). I'm still a rookie at prop hangin and would cut an appendage I might need in the near future if my plane was as close to me as yours is in the picture.

I'm having a great time with my goldberg 330 profile. With CG set rearward and the rudder nearly touching the elevator at it's furthest deflection, I can get a totally flat inverted tail spin. Will spin 20 times or so before pulling out inverted 10 feet off the ground, a real eye catcher. I think if I had more power, I could get the plane to climb while performing this manuever.

You indeed will. Mine w/ Magnum 52 w/ Tower muffler was turning 12.25x3.75 @ 13700 rpm, and it was climbing inverted flatspin. With a Saito 72 on APC 13x6 @ 10500 rpm, it will sustain inverted flatspin but not climb.

I finally got the time to fly my 330 extreme with the tuned pipe on it. It has all the power I need and more. I have not tried to hover yet because we are still trimming the plane and really have not had much time to fly since the last post I left here. Also it has been windy and I'm taking chances to fly in the wind since this is my 2nd extreme 330. Thank you for the info on the CG I will make the adjustments as soon as I can and I will post on what happens.

Quick question, what size spinner does this airplane need? I have a 2.5" Tru Turn, but I'm afraid it's going to be too big.

I like using aluminum or brass propnuts on profiles myself.....

Depends on if you want to flip the rubber thing in your starter or not.

Ok, I'm going to be running a 4 stroke engine and the reason I have the 2.5" spinner is because i bought it for the EF 540T profile. But I've been waiting for months and want a profile to learn on and this seems to be a good one as well. Can I just use the rear nut and use a propnut to "jam" it on?

I have a saito 72 on my 330. Use the washer, big nut, and a dubro spinner nut. I have not had a problem with this set up.

Well fellas, I pulled the triger yesterday. I'm tired of waiting for the EF 540T and i put my name on the list back in october. Plus the Extreme is $25 cheaper.
