Default OS FX .46

Anyone ever use the OS FX .46 w/remote needle valve for profile 3D?

Flown one. Was OK with good midrange response. No difference as far as I could see from a normal needle.

I have a Thunder Tiger .46 that I have used on a profile before. Great engine.

I just have not used the OS.

Thanks for the response.

PS: I am just about done covering my PRIMO.

It is engine choice time.

Yup running two of them with tower mufflers on profiles. Great little motor, love em. Really got nothing bad to say about them to be honest, they don't make the power my .50SX does but the difference is minute.

I'm flying one on my Morris Knife. All stock parts on the engine. APC 11.5X4 prop works great and hovers its 4lb 5oz no problem...

That .46 FX will be fine on a light .40 size airframe and a good prop. Mine have always run well with an APC 12x4 or 12.25x3.75. If you need a little more RPM trim the tips a half inch.

I have the OS on the test stand. I am going to try the stock muffler, Tower muffler and the Jett Q500 pipe off my Quickie Jett to see which one produces the best overall and midrange response.

Then I will do the same thing with the Thunder Tiger.

I prefer a wood 12 X 4 prop over the APC. Spools up faster {lighter} and has a wider blade. Has worked very well for me on past {expired profiles} profile planes.

I'm pretty busy with my business, so it might take me awhile to report my results.

For all out 3D profiles you're going to want the stock muffler or the Tower muffler. The Jett muffler is for all out speed, and would be more suited to a speed plane where you can fly full bore.
