The Knife or The Pizazz

I'm flying a pretty sweet Profile Gee Bee and have been looking hard at building another for back up. I have completely sold myself on the The Knife (I may have a trade in the works for a Morris Gee Whizz Bee) but just now in my office I met a guy downstairs that want to sell me a NIB Pizzazz arf for $100. Any opinions on what I should do? It would be nice just to walk down stairs in the morning and hand the guy a c note. I just want to do knife edge, knife edge loops, good spins, good hovers. You know all the good stuff!

Go with the knife. Thats a good deal for an Pizzaz, but the knife is a better flying plane. I have flown both and really like the knife a lot better. The knife is one of the easiest to hover planes I have flown. That remarkable because it is only a 40 size plane. Knife, Knife, and more Knife! Just my opinion. Happy flying.

Between the two choices that you have outlined above, and considering what you are flying now and your objectives-
Go with the Knife

What I really want is one of your planes. I only have 2 gallons of fuel worth of experience (I do a mean knife edge loop though!). I'm afraid if I actually take the time to build a kit I'll be to nervous to treat the way I should. Plus I need something to look forward to and I think one of your planes will be on that list.

Decisions - decisions!!!
I appreciate your interest in HSRCM Kits. I would suggest the Wacky-Bee III as an excellent, full 3-D, entry level Fun-Fly. Realize that when I say entry level, I am talking about entry level for HSRCM kits. The Wacky-Bee III has a box style fuse, hence it is more rigid than the aircraft that you are flying now, which is very important in knife edge manuvers (including KE loops).
The only suggestion that I can offer is to see if you can get someone to build it for you in your club. That way you won't have the time investment.

While I have your attention. What about the Morris Gee Bee Whiz. As good as the knife? Not as good? Worse? That would be a trade for my built Ultra Stick .40

Billy,
I just put a knife arf in the air for the first time this past Saturday. While it flew it was totally awesome. With the new MVVS 49 it flew beautifully. However, it wouldn't fly over two minutes. After some examination I determined the tank had a pinhole in it. Took it home half pissed off and hung a tank off the left side. Sunday it flew like a bird on steroids. I would have to say you can't go wrong with the knife. But, I've heard of others having trouble with the tanks after they get them built in the wing so, I would recommend a close examination of the tank before completing the tank installation. Live and learn.

Would you quit dicking around and buy a knife already! :) Just funnin ya. If you do go with a knife, they are a great plane. If your wanting to learn to hover, there might be a better one out there but it can't be much better.

The Knife is the better of the two Morris planes you are asking about. I had a 'Wizz Bee and didn't really care for it. The Knife out flys it and handles better in all types of flying. Pete

I'll get a hold of him Fri. and see. I should have bought it and sold it on ebay but since I was out of work for the last year (lots of flying time). I'm pretty tight with my flying money now (employed - no flying time). I'll email you when I find out.

If the deal does go down maybe your local hobby shop has a Morris the Knife ARF in stock. Then we would all be happy!

I wish they did... I don't think anyone out hear stock a knife ARF... although I don't know why... I think there is a hobby shop out in Jackson that might....

I've decided to sell my Knife ready to fly. I drive through Nashville all of the time and we could hook up.

The Knife is as follows:

Built from Contest grade balsa (under 4 lbs, dry, ready to fly)
Yellow on top, blue on bottom. Says "The Knife" in blue on the wings.
OS 46 FX with a tuned pipe.
Hitec 225 in a pull-pull on rudder
Hitec 225 with carbon fiber rod to elevator
JR 517's on ailerons
Hitec 425 on throttle
127 DF RX on channel 40
600 mah battery
Futaba charge jack switch

$350

You can ask Wayne (wgeffon) about it, he has flown it.

Let me know, will be posting in the for sale section later today.

Just in case any of you guys wanted to know I ordered my Knife today along with the video. The great search is over! Can't wait to get it in the air and start tuggin' on the sticks. They were great on the phone and answered all my questions.

I'm amazed at how many people here have noticed that I altered the Duck. It was decided that she needed a little more visibility under there. Now it's like a flying circus! I'm thinking for the bottom of the Knife I will put "BILLY" on one wing and "HELL" on the other. I got the name from my Grandpa who said that he and his brother raised "billy hell" down in Texas. I always liked the phrase.
