How is this kit? Is it good for 3D?
I have an OS 91 4 Stroke that needs a home.

Where can I get one?

Any other suggestions for this engine would be appreciated.

I am also considering a Morris Sudo 60. Is it one peice or do the wings come off?

Thanks,
Gregg

The Doghouse Extreme is a pretty straight forward kit from what I understand. My father is retired and needs to keep busy so from time to time I buy two kits and he builds 'em. Not a bad deal eh? Maybe he'll chip in on how the kit is. But really, the airplane has a box fuse, a constant chord wing, and sheet balsa tail surfaces. The only mods we made were two elevator servos and pull-pull rudder... pretty standard.

I have about 30 flights on mine, and I haven't really made my mind up yet. First let me say that 3D is pretty new to me, and not quite my style of flying... yet. I have a Saito 91 on mine, and vertical is unlimited, hovers at about 3/8 throttle or less. With the large control surfaces and a lot of power, the plane does some truly strange things. My dad can get a climbing flat spin with his and a Saito 100, I can't quite do that yet. What I have done, and can repeat, is an inverted spin (can go flat) with the inputs for an upright spin. And yes I know how to do both, my guess is that the rudder on this thing, combined with the overabundant propwash, overrides everything else. One thing i really do like is that you can also, and I don't normally anyway but it's nice to be able to, fly full throttle in level flight and not worry about fluttering to death. It's built like a tank... strength, not weight.

Anyway, didn't mean to go on a rant. I'm still tweaking and learning about mine. Supposedly it is very capable at 3D, but I'm not there yet (me or the plane).

You can buy it at Hobby Barn for somewhere a little over $100.

I love my DH-X. I learned to Torque Roll with this plane.
Dick Smith the designer is a great guy to deal with.
I did a detailed review of mine from building to flying. It also has a lot of construction pics that are accesible from the review.

I also have the Morris Su-Do-Khoi .60. I dont think a .91 four cycle would give you the performance you want for 3D. I have a Saito 1.20 in mine and its just about right.

E-mail me if you have any questions about either plane.
