3D question
Hey folks,
I'm beginning to teach myself some 3D maneuvers and was wondering if you could fill me in on a few things. I'm slowly getting the hang of hovering....pretty wobbly but getting there. (I can touch the tail about 2-3 times in between crashes) I know what harriers are BUT: I'm pretty much the only one at my flying field so I have no idea what other maneuvers are, such as: Blender, Waterfall, Toilet Bowl, etc... I hear this stuff all the time on here but still don't know what they are or how to perform them. Anyone wanna take the time to help me out? Thanks |
RE: 3D question
Well the blender is a very insteresting maneuver.....
Basically you climb, then point your nose straight down. After the plane build up some speed you begin rolling it to one side. After 2 or 3 rolls (or more also) you enter an inverted flat spin (full down elevator rudder and aileron to the opposite side as the rudder), the plane will suddenly "stop" on the air if done correctly. But this can be very stressfull on the wing and if you're not carefull you may break it due to the high accelerations involved. There are some good sites with information on these maneuvers, take a look at: http://www.3drc.info http://members.cox.net/moorman1/maneuver.htm and look on the Hot Dog maneuvers section |
RE: 3D question
In a very very short period of time, International 3D's (I3D) website will be up. Some of the content is a page that tells of many of the 3D tricks and you will be able to find some really great info from there, however the site is not 100% yet.
I saw part of the list, harriers, blenders, tick tocks, toilet bowl, waterfall's and several others, there must have been 20 of them. Just give it a few days. |

ORIGINAL: cropdusterdave Blender, Waterfall, Toilet Bowl, etc... I hear this stuff all the time on here but still don't know what they are or how to perform them. Anyone wanna take the time to help me out? Waterfall: From a hover a forward flip, looks like a very tight outside loop, or a forward somersault. Done properly there will be little or no loss of altitude. Toilet Bowl: Sort of very tight circles, usually nose high, think of a cross between a flat spin and tight circles. When you get it right the plane looks like it's water circling around in the toilet bowl, but not going down. D |

When you get it right the plane looks like it's water circling around in the toilet bowl, but not going down. D err......sorta, but not really. The Toilet Bowl: From a knife edge, you do a horizontal waterfall. The plane rotates nose over tail from a knife edge position and continues in knife edge, with out loosing alitude. The cross between a flat and a knife edge spin, kinda what your describing is called a Tornado. Another very cool trick. Getting the plane to do it is a WHOLE other story and im not too sure if anyone could give you written way to do one. |
