FLAG WATCHER

I do look at every flag I see and I know where most of flags around town are.:D
I use to be aware of how hard the wind was blowing... but I never let it decide if I was going to fly or not...
Now I check to see what the wind speed is if its too high I check to see what time or if it will slow down... Its not that I cant fly in the wind but it takes alot of my fun factor away, And I feel I really can't practice like I should... Does anyone else have this problem...[&:]

RE: FLAG WATCHER

The nice thing about here is that in the summer if it is windy it will calm down by morning. If I have a need to fly I will get up at 2:00 AM and fly for a while before work. The initial getting up and out part is VERY hard to do but once I make it to the field you're good to go.

But yes I do look at flags even though I have no intention of flying. If they are calm then I am mad at myself for not bringing an airplane, And as always if I bring an airplane then it is windy. I have a new theory this year. I am going to pack a kite with my airplane and pretend I have every intention of flying the kite and it will be whisper calm every time.

Hey, Bizzaro, do you have a foam 3d yet? The reason I ask is it is almost always calm in the evening. I live in a city neighborhood with a small front yard. I go out and fly under the street lamps whenever the mood strikes.

There are two flags that wave ( or hang completely limp ) just outside the conference room window where I work.... I stop by regularly to see what they're doing....

I usually load up my car with planes on Monday morning... and they stay there till Friday afternoon..... If the flags are limp.... and I get a wild hare... I'm off to the field... Sometimes I fly the foamy at night under the lights at a supermarket or even at the parking lot at work....

Fly till you die.... What a sick puppy...

I live down in a valley where it can appear to be dead calm...then when I truck it up the the airport is is blowing like a banchee. I just did this today....flew off a half a tank before I brought it down and called it quits. I just can't enjoy flying 3D when a hover is just slightly nose up. I live for those evenings when it's dead calm.

I not only look at flags constatly, I look at patures. I will say things like, "all I would have to do is cut down those 6 trees...." out loud. Even guys at Hobby Lobby have said I'm sick when it comes to my addiction. One day I'll have 30 acres and lots of flags of my own.

Flag watcher here too....

I keep a lipo or two charged at home with plane and tranny nearby. Every evening when I am coming home, I am watching the flags around town and the high-grass in the fields for wind. I then find myself burning a pack out in the front yard or under the streetlights at the local church like Paul.

I fly whether it is windy or not, but I do different things in each situation.......
