Question for tetherite

1 Attachment(s)
Looks like your having great success with your krazyleggs landing gear.Congrats on the hook up with OMP. Do you have the equipment to manufacture these blocks for this type landing gear i think you would find great success with this type also.

The gear pictured weighs 2 1/2 ozs with all screws and wheels. I would definately take a few sets.

Thanks
Kenny

RE: Question for tetherite

Hi Kenny;
Thanks for the inquiry. The gear is certainly "different"!
The parts are "makeable", but the braket looks like it would take a compound mold with a retracting core. Gets more complex and more expensive.
How heavy is the plane and are the struts carbon fiber rods?
The 40 size KrazyLegs look like they have about the same height and weigh 3.25 oz.
I might be competing with myself!
Good landings and thanx for the OMP mention!
Ray

RE: Question for tetherite

Ray,
Thanks for the response. The struts are CF rods can't remenber the wall thickness at present ...took some experimenting here shattered a few sets before i figured it out. I have never broke one of the brackets though. The heaviest plane i have used them on is a little over 4 1/2 lbs. He has already machined a set for an 80" profile he is working on, which will be heavier. I just dont wont to ask my buddy to machine me out another set of brackets, takes him about an hour and he wont let me pay him.

Where do i send my money to, i want to try your krazyleggs ...everyone seems to swear by them.

Thanks again,
Kenny

Kenny;
Just send a direct e-mail and I'll attach the info on a reply.
Your Buddie must enjoy machining specialty parts. My Dad is like that!
BTW, we do have GS KrazyLegs for 8 - 15 lb. profile planes. They're now stock in the OMP GS540P Kit!
Best regards.
Ray
PS - thanx guys, yo'all are too kool!
