Is it repairable.

Sorry, I haven't flown it, but I'm starting to hover lower and lower. Was the plane repairable when it dropped two feet from the ground?

Mine is just about ready to fly. I sure hope it is easier to fly than build. I'd hate to guess how many hours I have invested in the stupid thing. Do you know what they are using for engines? I have a ST G90 with a pipe for mine.

Big Boy

DA2000,
A local guy flys his Big Boy with a YS91AC. If it comes in at 8 lbs or less, a YS91AC should be enough, if heavier, a larger engine is needed. I don't know what kind of thrust an ST G90 will produce or how fast you want to be able to pull out of a hover. The ST should be good for 9-10 lbs, I would think.
I have the Spoiler short kit, and will build that for a YS120, or a Saito150/180.

jerry's big boy!!

I flew Jerry's original one at a fly-in in Kentucky several years back, and it has to be the most pure "fun" 80 inch plane I'd flown. His original had 5" ailerons instead of the 3 or 4 inch options (I think those numbers are correct) offered in the kit. For power, he had a Webra 120 with a mouse-can pipe of sorts,.. it was 3 large cans (like harispray) put together with an outlet made from a small butane cylinder. With this setup, power was NOT a problem. :D

Jerry's latest version of this is the "Spoiler", redesigned with a fuselage change for better knife edge and different tail surfaces. Short kits are available.
