morris pull pull sticking ?
just noticed that the elevator pull pull on my morris sudukhoi is binding. it actually squeaks the evevator through it,s travel ! at the field i tried pulling out the cables without disconnecting the crimps & lubing the exposed sections with afterrun (atf) but when assembled again same thing. i don,t think the cables are too tight or frayed.. any ideas other than replacing the inner cables? any one else run into this ?? your input is appreciated...rob m probro # 372

RE: morris pull pull sticking ?
If the cables don't move free in their housings... There is probably some glue right at the opening...... You might have to remove the cables and clean out the hole a little with your hobby knife.... If they are free, then you need to adjust your linkages so that there is no binding. If you get some slack in one cable while the other is taunt, that's okay... In the air the taunt cable will keep the control surface deflected in the direction it needs to go....

Check the pivot point of the control horn should be slightly AFT of the hinge center line 1/32- 1/16 or so.

paul, should have mentioned the plane is 3 years old & has dozens of flights on it... i will get new inner cables but of course i noticed this after the hobby shop was closed for a long weekend.. i,m thinking the coating must have rubbed through inside the fuse & was wondering if this is common... thanks for the input guys....rob m bro 372

RE: morris pull pull sticking ?
Mine did that on the Sledge, The cable too tight, it was loosened and worked for a while, then later it happened again and had to replace the servo finnally.
Don't know if tightness caused servo wear or ? Good luck, Dennis |

I know several guys that did away with cables and run 4-40 rods down the side of the fuse..Good luck.
