Sledge 540
Sledge comes with an 8oz tank.

which is the reason to use the tank inside the wing.

Sledge 540
It keeps the airflow back to the tail un-disturbed.

not only that but it helps offset the lateral balance of the motor as long as there is a half tank or so. A 10 min flight is about all I can get out of my irvine 53 with an 8 oz tank, but I have a higher preformance muffler and fly it pretty aggressively. By the way I finally got the saito 72 tuned properly and with a graupner 12.5 x 5 it finally feels like a powerful motor. revving it up to about 10,500. sounds just like a ys 63.

I'lll have to check but I think the plans show the tank on the same side as the motor. No big deal to put it on the other side though.

but that already happen because remember the engine is in one side. I think is better to have the tank outside because hovering you can see the remaining fuel. |

I must have had a brain fart. The tank is on the motor side (probably as it should be to keep oil out of the switch) I was thinking of another plane

tank info
The tank is planned to be mounted in the right wing bay, hatch accessible. However, I do have a preproduction running around with the tank on the opposite side of the engine where it can be seen. It really does not matter where you put it, the characteristics do not seem to be changed by the tanks location. I am still having log in problems to rcu so if I do not respond to these posts, it is because the system is not allowing me to log in. Feel free to email me at [email protected] the kit is now available from Morris Hobbies. Those of you who bought this kit and need help with setup send me an email. Jeff.
