TopCap Control Horns
So I put all the control horns on for the pull-pull on the ele and rudder. Then I noticed at full throw the ele horn would hit the rudder horn (I didn't even hae the wires hooked up yet and the rudder wires would definitely block the ele from full throw. I bought a Dubro bolt the has the plasic pieces that screw on and act as a horn but they are going to hit the ele too.
What did you guys do to fix this? Should I just not try to get full throw on the down side of the ele? Currently the ele will go all the way down past the fuse (without the problem mentioned above). |

That should be enough Billy. Use your ATV's to stop the travel just prior to them hitting.

With the control horn problem it won't do that now. I'd say it is around a 45 degree angle. |
Caution
Billy, I reviewed one of these and saw that problem. You can either limit the throw and perhaps have lackluster waterfalls (still not bad though), or notch out the elevator to clear the horn. I told a buddy of mine about this and he ingnored the contact between the rudder horn and the elevator. He kept telling me that it did great waterfalls and the clearance was no problem, until.......it stuck!......Crunch!!

Billy.
What I have done to eliminate that problem is to use pull-pull on ele. and use a 4-40 rod on rudder (with keepers in two+ places). Put your ele pull-pull horns on one side of the ele. and put the control horn for the rudder on the opposite side of where you put the ele horns. (that way, the horns miss each other) Also make sure that the rudder horn is put on as low as possible.
This is what worked for me so I hope it helps you! Craig Rideout |

I thought about going to a rod but I think it would still hit the ele (I'm hitting the actual ele not the horns). I like the cutting idea. I'm not a waterfall freak so maybe I'll try it with less throw on the down side and cut it if I need it later.

But with that said I spend a lot of time doing inverted spins and I would want that extra ele wouldn't I....
