After many months of on and off building and setting up I finished it and flew it today! 6 flights.

My set-up/mods:

Servos: 2 Hitec 605bbj (rudder, elevator) 3 hobbico hs 61 standard servos

Engine: OS 70 Surpass

Radio: Futaba t6xas

Mods: Instead of putting the elevator and rudder servos in the servo tray I moved them back by the tail. one on each side of the fuse.

I added 1" of balsa to rudder

beefed it up

4-40 push rods all the way around except throttle

Flying: This is a great second plane! This will spin extremely fast and the recommended thoughs seem like dual rates! Rolls are perfectly axial, loops can be done in 10 feet, and hovering is definately possible. Knife edge doesn't work with this plane no matter what, but adding an inch to rudder does help.

I got 30 min flights with a 10 ounce tank!!! it is simply amazing, I am going to try and post some pics tom of the plane!

I'll take a pic of it tonight of how I did it. I did use the U-bend method and it fits just right. It takes a little extra work but non the less works.:)

The plane looks great, But the way you have your ELEV.
pushrods conected to the servo wheels will cost you an airplane.
My two cents is either solder on a steel clevis, or put a Z-bend
on the end. The clevis is the best but either works great.

Nice job, Shortman

I agree with daveo, sooner or later (probably when you least expect it) those linkages are going to work loose. Even if they lose a little grip on those chrome pushrods they will slide. A Z-bend will keep this from ever happening, and it looks like you have plenty of extra rod to work with.

Just another 2 cents (yen!).

I installed Z-bends a while ago, probably 3 weeks ago and have been flying with them since, there simple and there is less things to go wrong.
