Real Harriers down low!
 

Boys and girls, I ran across this picture recently and thought wow, now this pilot really knows how to do a harrier. I've seen the F-18 Hornets do harriers for years at air shows but never one this low. Wonder if he planned it this low? Cool picture and thought I'd share it with everyone.

yea the Blues rock!! Being here in the Pensacola Fl area means we get to see several air shows a year, not to mention almost every wenesday durring the summer is a pratcice day.

At the beach show this past year the opposing solos did Harriers coming at each other. as they passed they put the throttle down and near vertical pull out was amazing and loud! loud! loud!

I went to the show mainly to see the Giles fly and that was great also!! Inverted flat spin! and I read about a pilot who died doing one on the FLodida east coast a few weeks before.

another note I met an older guy at the flying field this past weekend who used to be a Blues pilot I'm guessing it was 25 years ago or more. (he was buddy boxing his trainer)

Yep, them Blue Angels aviators have gigantic gonads! Even more impressive is the fact they aren't wearing a G suit when they fly their routine.

Its amazing how a Jet is doing a harrier w/ very little if any up elevator. I see that the flaps are down.

No problem, I've been meaning to post there myself with this pic. M. Grambling, if you ever get a chance to watch modern jets fly at low speeds say on landing or in this high alpha mode you will see the elevator moving quite rapidly up and down. Modern flight control systems and actuators are making constant corrections. I'd say the pic just happen to be snapped with the elevator in that position. I've seen these elevators (actually ailevators on jets) move up and down as much as 30 degrees rapidly.
