Accel Kat 40 cg help

I went to check my cg using a Saito 82 and it balances 5 1/2" back from the leading Edge..this is with the Tetherite gear and a Dubro 8oz tank...Is this ok for starting out??

Thanks

You should be good. 100mm that in the manual is incorrect, suggested to start at 130mm. 5.5" is very close to 140mm. I think there are several flying at 140mm.

I didnt do the transalation but if 140mm is 5.5 inches your right where you need to be.

I find thats about the best blend between precision an 3D. I tryed mine over a wide range an found it does well almost anywhere.

I would concur with 5.5 also. The manual update specifies 135 mm for starters which equals 5 5/16 inches. So you can see only 3/16 further aft puts you at 5.5 inches and a tad more tail heavy.

Mines balances at the front servo screws. Not sure how far back that is, but I was told by several ppl that theirs were balanced there. I did mine that way and have just gotten used to it. I could try to move it forward and see, but Im one to just say the heck with it and go. Ive heard of too many ppl that are WAY better than me say that this is the sweet spot for the plane. :D

I used a CG machine AT the fuse and balanced there. Just so happens it was the same as servo screw location. Same on yours? Now ya got me to thinkin....135 right?
