Flutter and the Top Cap
I have a YS 63 mounted a Top Cap with a 13x7 prop. Should I be overly concerned about control surface flutter? I have flew the heck out of Wasp and never had problem with flutter. Lookng for others expereinces with Top Caps or profiles.

Flutter and the Top Cap
If you fly this plane at full speed of that YS you will get flutter.
Its designed to fly slow. The combination of big surfaces and high speed is a recipe for flutter. That plane and motor combination is perfect. You'll love it. Just dont go near full throttle unless the nose is pointed up and it will be fine. |
Agreed...
As stated above, you've got a fine combination.. but flying at full-throttle may induce a serious tail flutter. Feel free to use full throttle on hovers, vertical snaps and spins, etc.. but in straight-away flight you may instigate flutter.

Thanks for confirming my concerns. Is the th 13x7 prop okay or should I try a 14x4 FF prop?
