i destroyed my great planes u can do foamy 1 to many times so i started building a balsa version. ithe balsa frame weighs .23 pounds and the foam plane only weighs .4 pounds. i'll see after covering what the total weight savings is.

what covering are you using? How do you like it? I have never used any of the "lite coverings." Are they similar to regular covering?

RE: u can do profile
i am not sure what brand my covering is. it came with a miniflash kit by mountain models. it is very light and has a foggy tone before you shrink it. after shrinking, it goes pure clear.
lite covering is great to work with. adhesive melting points will differ between manufaturer, but are generally lower. the great thing about lite covering is how it shrinks. i guess you have to be careful not to burn a hole in it with the heat gun, but generally, it shrinks real quickly and seems to be more forgiving with wrinkles. oh, and another thing is make sure to seal it reeeal well before you heat gun it. it seems to peal away kind of easy.. but again, seal it well and it should not be a problem. |

it's done, it flies great! just like it's foam brother, but way more stiff. it came out at 15 ounces ready to fly. now im tempted to build a profile for my thunder tiger .46!
