The GeeWizBee totally ROCKS!!!! I sorta felt like the grim reaper last night picking it up from Chris...... But he seemed glad to sell it....
I stuffed all my gear in it last night from a canabalized Wasp that hase a broken fuse.. Awesome plane... I had a balst with it today!!! Would do everything I asked it to do.... Tons of fun!! Thanks Chris for doing such a good job building this one.... This experience has to be the closest I've ever come to instant gratification.... Pick it up at night.... Fly it the next day..... Ahhh Yeahhhh!!! |
GeeWhizBee
How is the blue covering once it's in the sky. Looks great from here.
|
GeeWhizBee
Your going to need to build an addition to your garage to hanger all your planes, geeez.
|
GeeWhizBee
The blue is real visable... Not hard to see at all. I think the contrast it what helps the most in a color scheme...
|
GeeWhizBee
Paul what motor did you put on the Gee Wizz Bee.
|
GeeWhizBee
I used a scroungy OS 46 FX... I bought it from a guy that crashed it and bent the crank and broke off the needle valve... I got a used crank for $15 and I JB welded the needle valve on.... Runs like a top!!! I tried a pletora of props on it... I liked the 12 x 4 apc sport prop the best... spooled up faster than the 12.25 x 3.75 and it had better pull that the 11.5 x 4.... Lots fun!!

That's the same engine I will put on my GWB since that's What I took out of my Extreme 330.
Paul, do you think that the Ultrathrust muffler will clear the wing on the GWB ? |
GeeWhizBee
I think it will... but I've never had an ultra thrust....
|
GeeWhizBee
Hey Paul, I'm glad you like it. I was anything but happy to sell it, but dare I say that I had some other priorities at the moment.
I will be back...oh yes, I will be back. I'll get the Pen Knife up again or the Uproar to keep me going. Maybe a Sledge when I have time to build again. Is your Sledge up and running yet? Enjoy It |
GeeWhizBee
nope... haven't started the sledge.... but it's next on the board.... Actually... I've got a new project... It's a Menace Plus... Hot off Mark Shope's design board.... It outta be a hoot... even lighter that the original menace.. Supposed to come in around 3 lbs.... I'm going to do a building thread on it soon as I start it.

How about some step by step photos for Ulf and I as well as the whole PROBRO clan that I can put on the website? |
GeeWhizBee

Here is what I'm thinking. Hey I'd be glad to do the step by step thing but it will be after my flip and a pro twister that almost finished before I get started....G

Paul,
How does the Gee Whiz Bee fly compared to the Su-Du-Khoi? Has the Bee become your favorite airplane? |
GeeWhizBee
I flys different than the SuDoKhoi.... I think I still like the SuDoKhoi the best... But I like something different to fly too... So the Bee is a winner.....

Paul
Have you flown the Sledge? Have you owned a Knife? I would like to build a lighter Knife to back up the arf. But then the Sledge seems like it should be the next plane but if you prefer the Suki over them all maybe that should be the next plane. Of course Gator has this thing for Pro Twisters. Maybe that should be the next plane.....I'm going to get a drink. |
GeeWhizBee
I haven't built my sledge yet..... I've flown a scratch built knife.... I really liked that....
I don't think you can go wrong with any of the planes you mentioned.... They are all simular... just build it light... |
GeeWhizBee
Billy,
I had a scratch build knife. And currently flying gators old "florida Gators Knife" And the scratch build knife flew alot better than the knife ARF. The main reason I think it flys better, it because the kit or scratch built is about 9ounces lighter than the ARF. After Christmas I will start on a scratch build knife. It was build by a friend.. Now I have to cover it. I am hoping to have it done by this time in Jan. But, things are going to have to slow down at work. |
GeeWhizBee
I would love to build a Knife kit. :D
I'd like to see how light I could get it and compare the way it flies to the ARF. Works not been that bad for me. It's everything at the house. Between New Baby, Christmas Parades, Boy Scouts, Children's Christmas Plays, Inlaws, Family, and Christmas Get Togethers, I've been lucky if I've gotten 1 hour of work done on the workbench since Thanksgiving. (Other than repair work on the Knife). :( No, the two Sledge's are not finished yet, mainly for the very reasons I've mentioned above. :( I'm off most of next week, so hopefully, I can get some work done on the projects on the bench. :) I just wish I didn't build so ssssllloooowww. It sure would help things. I hear of guys getting a Knife framed up in one day. That would be great if I could do that! It usually takes me that long to build the wing (framed, sheeted, and sanded). |

Latch
I was hoping you would say that. What is your Credit Card number? BH! |
GeeWhizBee
Billy,
Use my "Southern Express" card Number: BR549 Expiration Date: Sometime Soon Please feel free to order all you need. I really don't mind. But, Morris will probably want you to use one of your Credit Cards to "back" my "Southern Express" card since you are obviously not me. :D |
GeeWhizBee
I framed up a knife in three evenings...
|
GeeWhizBee
For me, that's still pretty quick Paul. :)
I'm guessing that you worked about 3 hours each evening, so If I'm right, that would be about one full days worth of work. Maybe I'm too bogged down in the small stuff. Making sure everything is straight and square before glue is applied. |
