Another Pro-Bro slammed

Hey guys;
Broke another one, woo hoo. Hovering on the runway, gust of wind and a little pancake. |
RE: Another Pro-Bro slammed
WOW you wadded that one up !!!!!
I hate to see a good plane down. But cheer up it doesn't look too bad you should be able to heal that one. |
RE: Another Pro-Bro slammed
Nah, a bit of 600# cutting compound and all that will buff right out :-)

RE: Another Pro-Bro slammed
Wooo, You're not hovering low enough; you can't do that much damage when your tail is already on the runway :D

RE: Another Pro-Bro slammed
It was on the runway, and OMP is out of 80in edges right now.
The gust picked it up and flipped it the opposite direction that I was doing my torque rolling tail touches. Can't cry over spilt milk, gas, or a broken plane, just build another one and do it again. |

G-man,
I just relized thats an 80" Fun Fly. No wonder it's a little banged up. I like your attitude toward 3d'n with this plane. I can't tell you how many 40 size profiles I see flying 3 mistakes high. Keep up the good work [8D] |

Need a match?

I need a match, just not broke in half.

G-man,Thought those 2-piece wings were supposed to have stronger fuses, now we know where the weak point is! That plane is very repairable and much easier with the wings off. I have fixed a number of profiles and find it is usually much quicker than setting up a new one. What's a few extra ounces and a couple of patches. Am usually more relaxed when my plane has some battle scars, gives em some character. My girlfriend wants a nose job too, but I keep telling her I will not love her any more if she looks perfect .

I have been flying these 80in profiles for a long time, they are very strong for the people who aren’t doing there routine on the runway. In your book it may be very repairable but you really are not seeing the whole story, the right wing is splinters and is no way able to be repaired. The fuse I have practice with, I have fixed many, but when the price is such that the wonderful guys at OMP keep them on the ARF, it is cheaper to replace it (My time is worth money too).
I do a lot of building and repair for other people here, and I can put a ARF together in a matter of hours because I have a lot of practice. I usually do 2 ARF's a day for customers, if I am not flying, and 1 kit every 2 weeks (giant scale) so my time is worth a lot more to me building or repairing for someone else. It isn't that I do not have enough toys of my own laying around here to fly, but I really love my big profiles and will wait until the wonderful people at OMP get some more in (unless Rocco or Chip want to send me one of there profiles to try out, LOL), and then I will be back out playing with my profiles and leave the fatties at home again. |

G-man, all good points, just thought you wanted another Fun Fly. I go thru this decision every time I stuff one, and usually end up going for a replacement kit or wing if it's available. Latest dilemma is whether to rebuild or repair my Shoestring which went in pretty hard. Had about 150 hours in it with a lot of mods so decided to repair the fuse and toss the wings. Just picked up the last ARF that Tower had, and it's now discontinued. Where in L.A are you working? May want to look you up when I'm down that way.

RE: Another Pro-Bro slammed
I am just west of the Van Nuys airport and fly at the basin during the week if I am not in transit to a show like I am supposed to be Monday for Joe Nall again. I was just there last month for a IMAA meet, so I left the truck and trailer in Arkansas and flew home. It costs me less to do that because the best shows to go to are on the east side of the Rockies, so I keep what I call a couple "Basin Beaters" here to play with while I am home.
