Need some help identifying these planes
Hey there, picked up a load of planes from an auction and still have a few that i cant figure out what they are. hoping some of you could help me there.
The first one... i was hoping to rebuild it but im not sure if thats possible [link]http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f263/neco1/PICT0083.jpg[/link] [link]http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f263/neco1/PICT0088.jpg[/link] This second one, im really just wondering if i could get any money for it by selling. im not big into this style, and im not sure i would know where to start to finish it. but am still curious as to its name. [link]http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f263/neco1/PICT0091.jpg[/link] [link]http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f263/neco1/PICT0090.jpg[/link] im not sure if these pictures show this one well, so if different angles or whatever would help, them i would be more than happy to post them. thanks |
RE: Need some help identifying these planes
Could be wrong but I think the first one is some sort of scale aerobatic plane maby an Extra. The Second looks like a profle scale combat plane. As for finishing the second model dope and tissue or monokote would do fine.

The first on reminds me of a hobbico extra. The 2nd one????

The second looks.... heavy:D

yup, it definitly is heavy

First one, an Extra 260 looks pretty old & built with overweight construction. The second one is trash.. It looks like there is even mold growing in the wood. Is that a control line airplane?

I'll take it for ten bucks

RE: Need some help identifying these planes
The second one MIGHT be one of the old Sig Kwik-built kits, either the Chipmunk or the Mustang - I think the wingspans were around 60" or so. These featured profile fuselages with ABS plastic shells to give them a full-fuselage shape. THey also had a Cessna in that series - but this obviously is not one of those!
I think they went out of production in the late 1980's or early 1990's or thereabouts. Doubt you could get the shells anymore, but Sig might have the plans available - could be finished off as a profile sport model. |

No offense but there is not much there. I'd hang up as retro decor.
