Hey Guys,

I'm looking for a one of those wing and carbon boom style fun fly machines. Do you know of any kits that are available?

I used to have a florio flyers Stunt Wagon...bloody great plane.

I hate thes Profile things that have infiltrated the market. Owned a Profile Hots once.... nasty!!!

Thank for you advice!!!!!

I hope your not baseing you opinion on profiles from a Profile Hots....

Thats like not liking race cars because you drove a Pinto once.

On the other hand, if you just dont like profiles thats cool.

You mean a Boom plane? MS models makes some kits of them, and the minus from TPP can be made into an unlimited plane. Or the Black Jack the Jeff Black sells. I like the blackjacks with webra 32s the best out of all the boom planes I flew. There called boom planes because they have the boom for the fuselage and go boom into the ground really quick! :D

That's how I ended up here too! <LOL> Real disappointment hugh?
I'll second what wgeffon said, I would highly recommend that you fly a real Fun Fly and not just necessarily a profile before you judge them all. If you prefer a 'boom' plane, as Wgeffon said, that's fine, though please take an opportunity to try a few others before you make a decision. You may just be surprised! You want loops, rolls, touch and go's, roupes, then a boom plane is for you. If you want 3D without the associated cost of a giant scale. Good luck in your search!
Kevin :D

Menace Plus

Check out the Menace Plus thread in this forum... Very capably pod and boom type plane that flys very well with a 32 size motor. Mark Shope of MS Models is the manufacturer. You can PM me for details or contact him directly at (570) 769-2760.

I had a diamond tea from Air flair a number of years ago. It was a hot plane at the time. is it stil competitive?

Aren't you kind'a making the same mistake?

I race a Pinto wagon. It even has the roof rack still on it. 351C, TH400 (yes a GM trans) and lots of Gapp & Roush technology. It's the ultimate in ground based 3D!

On the other hand, if you just don't like Pinto's, that's cool.

By the way, profiles arent my bag either.

ALL FOR FUN, AND FUN FOR ALL!

i had a Dust Unlimited, killed it and rebuilt with a nice fat lifting section, now i have the best fun fly i've ever had, and perfect hanging manners too, obviously wont KE tho. would if i added simple sides. I'd go for the Dust Lill Rippy my self

Scratch build your own. There's not much to them. Pick your airfoil and the size you want and go for it. Just to prove a point. Heres one!

wing 36 inch
air frame is 8 0z with landing gear.

That looks really cool Dennis! What do you use for airfoil design?

What dia. boom did you use?

Paul.... I used a smaller version of the bat airfoil. When i redrew the bat i bumped up the airfoil a little.

I used a dave brown push rod for the tail boom. Its glass and a little flexable but they work ok. A carbon tube would be nice but i had the dave brown laying around.

Dennis - Do you use software to do your airfoils?

hey Guys, I just got my Menace Plus in the mail last night. Wow! What a great looking kit! The hard ware is so complete and all the parts are cut perfectly. Paul, nice job on the instructions! The color pictures look really good and help a lot. You can really see everything in the photos. Now that I've seen it, I'm going to get another one so I can always have two on hand ready to fly. I guess the Menace is just like a potatoe chip....(reference to a REALLY old commercial)

Took the engine out of a Pinto and put it on a VW transaxle in a sand rail with 4 carbs and a lot of other go fast stuff, what a monster! Oh, I love my Top Cap!

Four Carbs lol you must mean Webers . So that would be two carbs with two venturies each.

Nope four 44MM Mikuni's like on a dirt bike with four K&N filters. Got the manifold and carbs, cam, slotted cam timing gear and stuff from a place called Pinto Beans in Calif. they could take that 4 banger to 650 plus ponnies. I was an old motocrosser so I liked the Mikuni idea. Easy to jet and work on.
