Engine for Profile
I was wondering about these engines: [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=200093851839&ssPa geName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=010]Mark .61 LS BB RC Ringed Engine[/link]
Does anyone have experience w/ them? How good are they? Likes, Dislikes, etc. I am thinking about putting one on a 40 sized profile. Thanks |
RE: Engine for Profile
I have no idea how it would work for 3D flying, but look at the weight........
Mark .61 = 17.3 oz WITHOUT MUFFLER OS 55AX = 14.2 with muffler This could be easly more than 3/4 lb. differance. On a 40 size plane thats a lot. |
RE: Engine for Profile
No on so many levels, I don't know if I have that much time to type.
1- Weight 2- Mark motors, have not seen one that run that really was impressive. Average at best. 3-61's on 40 size profiles do not work unless the plane is 6 pounds. And if it's 6, you need a better plane. 4-Morris has done a great job of bringing profile planes to the market, however they have no idea how to set them up or fly them. If the question was about putting that motor on a Stick, it would work great, for a profile, it is the wrong choice. OS 55, 50, ST 51, Webra 50 are great profile/3D motors. All those are light and powerful. |
RE: Engine for Profile
Best bang for the buck is the TT Pro .46 with a Tower's 46 muffler or a mousse can. The pro .46 is light enough to keep the profiles weight down to make it more agile and it has a good mid to 3/4 throttle response.
