Adding floats to a SE
I am having a blast with my Something Extra and I was thinking about adding floats to it. I am thinking of using the stock gear in the front, and adding a gear to strengthen the back of the float. I want to make it easily changable from wheels to floats and back. Any suggestions/pics?
Thanks Seth |

Adding floats to a SE
I got to fly an SE on floats last year. I noticed most folks just use old trainers, that SE really made it a lot more fun.

Gee Bee Floats For Sig S.E.
There are quite a few people up in these parts flying Sig S.E.s and a few of them show up at our annual May Float Fly. I've seen a few on plastic Gee Bee floats and had to try it myself - they're a perfect match! Of course, like with any plane, more power is better given the added weight and drag of floats - mine has an O.S. .60. The Gee Bee floats come with their own aluminum mounting hardware, and the floats themselves are very tough - one of the guys here regularly drives his plane up the shore over the rocks to avoid getting wet. Scratches - who cares about scratches on plastic floats! I don't know how they take paint though for those fussy about colour matching. The S.E. on floats is a blast!
