Tetherite Offset Plates from OMP
I bought the offset plate from OMP to use on my profiles but am not exactly sure what part of the plate to use.
The plate is 3X3 and I need to use it for a 46 engine. I know that width wise the plate gets cut to work on several profiles but I am not sure what angled part of the plate will give me the right thrust angle. Do I put the engine on the thin end and cut forward or do I start from the thick end and work back. Also, whats the best way to cut it? I know this isnt very clear but if you have used one I think you will know what I am asking. http://www.ohiomodelplanes.com/comer...?idProduct=320 |
RE: Tetherite Offset Plates from OMP
I used the thinnest part first. I cut it on a band saw. I cut the two pieces the same size as the lugs on the engine. When I got to the 67" I had used all the thin section so I just moved up a little. This actually helped a little with the velocity stack clearance.
BTW the thrust angle is the same no matter what part of the plate you use. When you use the thicker part the engine will just be offset a little more. David |
