Magic and 4stroke?
 

I currently have a piped Webra 50 in my Magic and it has plenty of power. I was thinking about trying a YS63 4stroker in it. Good idea? Would it be any better then the Webra 50? I dont have too much experience with 4 strokes beside a Magnum 52 in a CG Cub and a YS140L in a DPExtra330 :D :cool:

The YS .63 is about 18 ounces. The Webra .50 is about 13 ounces if I remember...

The power difference will be huge, but the weight difference will be bad. Your airplane will be really nose heavy and performance will go way down. You will need extra weight for it to balance. The vibration will be much worse too... Is it worth it to you?

buddy of mine has a magic with a OS 70FS in it. He had to cut off the sidewalls where the engine mount is to make it fit. It has sick vertical and hovers easy at just under 1/2 throttle. But it is nose heavy and needs some rearranging to get some weight in tail.

My Webra 50 weighs 12.1 ounces without a muffler or header, which is a tad bit heavier than the weight listed on Horizon's site.

why over power it this much, the best engines for this type of LIGHT model are; os 32 sx, irvine 36 or 39, west 36, webra 32, anything over a 40 size is going to do the airplane no favours.

large engine/small plane....
 

I put an MVVS 40 in a Morris Pen-Knife(calls for a 21 size) This plane was no fun at all because it had so much power and extra weight, It never allowed any relaxation, period. Ran it out of Fuel on approach at about 15 ft....Don't know if I will repair it, if I do the 40 will not be on it. A friend has a Doghouse with an Enya 90 fs on it, flew it the other day, same problem a dead stick will be hairy to say the least.
