Need advice
Would a 1.6 twin have enough power for unlimited vertical on a 1.20 size cap 232? and why do the prices soar for 1.20 size planes?

SpaceClam,
I'm guessing the manufacturers won't lower the price because we are willing to pay more for these big birds. :) Granted, the material cost is not much higher, but consider the lower quantity of big kits sold; storage and shipping for bigger boxes; and additional cowling/wheel pants that are usually provided. My 1/3 scale Extra kit was $300 delivered. Do you think that is too high? I was pretty happy. Tom |

what about my first question?

SpaceClam,
I just don't know what to say about the first question. But I can still have an opinion. :) I'm going to say a twin that size just doesn't have the power to weight ratio for hovering. I could be all wrong. Tom |

have you ever flown a cap? if not, they are friggin bricks. they are incredible flyers, but they have a high wing loading and stall at high speeds. a cap of that size will weigh about 12 lbs, and the engine i am reffering to is the os ft-160. it swings up to a 20x8 prop. i don't know if that helps, but i would probably run just off of guessing, maybe a 19x6
