Top Cap Tips???
Does anyone have any tips on the top cap arf? I just got one
and was wondering if anyone had any tips on building this model. The instructions are poor and aren't even for the top cap. If anyone has assembled it and has any tips i would appreciate it a hole lot. Thanks, Jim   |

on the elevator, slide the elevator in first, then the horizontal, glue in the horizontal, then hinge the elevator.
Try a different tail wheel, mine keeps bending. Install the engine last to balance |

I would pin the hinges and upgrade the motor mount bolts also
the supplied bolts seem to like to break. |

John VH,
The hole to cut out the monokote and put the horizontal is huge. Do you cut out this entire hole to fit the stabilizare? |
Top Cap Tips???
well, I did thinking it would fit in after the horizontal is in place, but it doesnt, I presume you will cut alot of it out to be able to slide the piece back far enough to hinge it.
And make sure you have enough glue on the hinges!!!! |

I don't understand the pull pull stuff. How do you install the cables to the clevises???? What is the balance point of the top cap and what are the throws?????
Thanks again, Jim |
Top Cap Tips???
The clevis end of the setup has a small threaded piece with a hole on one end... The threaded side goes into the clevis and the cable is pulled thru the hole and then crimped with a small tube.

Top Cap
I just got my Top Cap ARF today in the mail today. Is everyone using the Fiberglass tape on the wing halves or can I go without it? I just epoxied the wing halves together and Personally can't stand the looks of that fiberglass on my models. I always end up with nothing more than a CA mess with fiberglass strings everywhere?
Thanks Jerry |
Top Cap Tips???
I didn't put the fiberglass tape on my suDoKhoi.... but I built the wing one piece.....
You could use a little resin and brush it out instead of using ca.... might look better. |
Top Cap Tips???
Id use the fiberglass Lowrider, just use epoxy instead of ca smooth it with a credit card.

Top Cap Tips???
its mostly hidden by the fuse anyhow, the pull pull is very simple to do, youll get it more when your to that stage!
ENJOY |
Fiberglass
Alright I'll put it on. Anybody try to peel back the covering and put the glass on underneath like the manual suggests? With the epoxy wipedown near the joint i don't see that coverng coming up very easily?
Thanks for the suggestions... Jerry |
Top Cap Tips???
I peeled it back a long ways, a iron will stick it right back down, and yes, it gets glued anyway:D

Top Cap Tips???
when I peeled back the covering on mine the red wanted to come off the white , make sure you dont tear it smothing it back down.(who me??)

Top Cap Tips???
i got a review from a site and the guy flew with the strips for about 10 flights then decided to experiment a little and took them off, he said he noticed a big difference in hovering and overall fligh characteristics, he said it hovered much better...

fuel tank
What side are you guys putting the fuel tank on? I assumed it was the left side but if i put it on the right then i don't need fuel lines going over that big fuse.
Thanks Jerry |
Top Cap Tips???

Thanks
