what engine should I put on my 57" p51 to make it a fast ?

This engine unported with the OS-7b carb, which is almost twice the ID of the stock, and the tuned pipe, runs like a top. Screams like a banshee! I will get RPM's as soon as I get a proper 12x10 on it.

The OS 8B carb is nearly twice the ID of the stock carb. I have fired it up with the pipe and it is really impressive, will know rpm's with a 12x10 next time I go to the field(too loud to run full rpm in my neighborhood, cranky neighbors).

Airraptor, I tried to fire up my 120 engine today and cannot it to run at all. Just have a lot of fuel dripping out of the pipe, is that normal? What should I check to get it running?

I cleared the engine out of fuel, put in a new glow plug, got nothing still. Fuel just drips out of the pipe like it floods before it gets the chance to fire up. How do I rebuild the regulator?

my 2 cents. lite weight but strong airframe, large CID engine and one that can reach 15,000+ RPM, hi pitch prop & shorter dia., cleaned up parasite air drag (stuff hanging out in the wind). these are the formulas for speed!!!!!! the reno unlimited racers (full scale) have learned this over the years. a lite weight 51 will put a BIG heavy corsair or a sea fury with a huge r4800 rad. engine in the nose in the weeds. speed don't lie!!!!!!!! same rule applies to rc planes.
some yrs ago i put a ys.60 short stroke on a foam sure flite p-39 cobra (.40 sized). at first i had a rossi .40 w/pipe and it went like a striped ape. later i put the ys .60 w/open exh. (macs header) and omg the dang thing was scary fast. the cobra had clipped wings and horizon stab and modified vertical stab, no retracts but i used narrow slim wheels and wire legs. we put styro foam to the max. later (2yrs later) the flite switch failed at full throttle and it went in at low angle and about 100 plus mph (est) and i believe all the foam beads came de-bonded because it looked like snow upon impact!!!!!!!!
i now have an airborne, world models 57'' 51 with an os .61fx on it (yet to be finished).
the os .90's are built on a .60 block, ST .75 and the .90 are built on a .60 block, the evo .90, i believe, is also using a .60 blk size.
a guy at tammies hobbies put the os .90 on his and the wing failed and crashed. so i decided to go with the .61 os. but then again i'm not racing mine.
i believe jet engines also make a .60 - .90 speed engs. 4stks, although torky, are limited in rpm and larger CID 4stks are heavy for this .40 sized plane. smaller glow engs. can rev to over 15,000+ and are much liter and higher in horse power.
just remember the larger engines just won't reach the hi rpm needed to reach hi speed. hi tork = pulling power. hi horse power (hi-rpm) is what u need for hi speed. a smaller dia., hi-pitch prop will give u hi speed. there are dia./pitch = air speed charts to calculate air speed, so look into that and it will help u pick the correct eng. to use. yes it is supercharged. All the YS four strokes are. The Piston is the supercharger the volume under the piston is reduce as much as possible and has a rear rotor to time it. The chamber and valve cover hold the pressurized fuel/;air mix till the valve opens. some are saying over 3.5 to 4 hp being made out of this engine but that is a just a guess.
