Default Q40 legality question

I was wondering, if I was to build up an old F1 kit and power it with a Jett Q40 engine would I be allowed to race in a local race. I know this may be a question for the particular CD but I read through the rules specifically the minimum size requirements and the airplane I have is bulky by todays standards. I just prefer the older airplanes with cowled engines and wheel pants.

Engines in Q40 can't be fully cowled, it's in the rules. The planes used in Q40 also have to be approved by the design approval committee, and I doubt any of the old F1's are.

I agree, though - the old F1's were nice looking planes.
