The Racer II and Havasu Slo-Quickee Races
I am almost ready to start covering my Racer II, and if anyone out there is thinking of getting one these kits, do it! What a pleasure to build. The foam cored wing comes already sheeted and sanded and is a one piece design. Love the airfoil, even though it has just been replaced with a newer design, I doubt that there will be a difference in our Slo-Quickee races. Of course the proof will be in the flying and unfortunately, I have to get back to work on my house (pouring cement) and I will not have time to get it ready for next weeks races. I have retired the proto-type racer since there will not be any more produced, although I may strip it down and refinish it some day. But it was easier to reactivated the Scat Cat until I get the Racer II finished. Bill Vargas, thanks for producing such a fine kit.
John Buckner, Are you planning on coming down for the Havasu races next Sunday the 21st? And are you bringing anyone with you? We should have a nice turn-out, including one, maybe two from San Diego, although one of our regulars will be missing, again, to attend a Diamondback game. That is almost worth it... NAH, it ain't!
