Yes, they are fine. Use the Nylon, and not the metal gears. Many Many racers are using those servos.
I've been using the Expert SL 451 servos quite a bit. They seem to center better the Hitecs and are a little smaller/lighter.
You can find them at the Horizon Hobby website, they are about the same price as the Hitecs.
