D. Normans NIGHTMARE
Ever wonder why Dave is always looking for or asking questions about CNC milled airfoils, tail thickness, stubby fuselages, wing molds and flying stabilizers? Its because of the R-200's pictured below that he has never beaten. well maybe once when I had a bad plug.
The R-200 is the big brother of the R-140. This plane features a Coke bottle fuse made of fiberglass and carbon fiber. It has a composite laminar flow tail with all linkages enclosed. Tail and wing have skinned hinges. Wing is a NACA 66-012 made of foam, balsa, fiberglass and paint all vacuum bagged, with Hoerner wing tips. The trailing edges on the tail and wing are so sharp that you can cut Deli Meat.
Dave with his new composite wing on his LEEKER is not going to be a match for the new R-200's of Chuck Eldridge, Jesse Platte (Splatt), Lee LaValley (diggs) and Jerry Elert.
Good Luck Dave and let the bench racing begin!!!!!
See you Saturday at the NCPL meeting

Randy, you made my night.
I thought I would take it easy and catch most of the TWolves game, but now you've motivated me to go out into the workshop.
Best laugh I've had all day.
Although its tough to fault your plane, it won at least 5 out of 7 of our NCPL races last year. You've done a good job and I like the competition.
Good Post.

I won't know what to do with myself getting a plane I didn't have to build/repair.... I might just sit down and look at it with a CR on the rocks and imagine how fast it will be. Then again, I could put down the booze and put in the radio gear, engine, etc but what fun would that be?

I thought this was Norman's worst nightmare. Gett'n smoked by a Bird of Weigh. Man, I flew good that heat, must have been the waxed thumb...
Randy, don't forget to wax the gear on the new ones so they'll get through the grass better this year.
Did someone say it's time for a little BENCH RACING? I'M IN!!!

C'mon Randy E., that picture has obviously been doctored. I've never seen a R200 look that good in real life. Why don't you leave the photo editing, errr, racing to the professinals...
Did you hear that Norman, RB just said guys like A.J. and I. Yeah, who's your daddy???
Splatt, now that's what I'm talking about. I guess Randy E. did get off the ground that heat...
You guys need to stop this madness, I'm about to pee my pants here...

RE: D. Normans NIGHTMARE
Earlier in this thread there were some questions about the authenticity of certain race photos. I have discovered another image from the TEAMseaholm photo archive that should dispel any questions. The following image clearly shows the Bird of Weigh’s supremacy over both the Neme-Q+ and R-200, aka “The Bench”.
Some of you may notice the slight distortions of the image around my Bird of Prey. After a great deal of research, I discovered this is due to the speed and the inability of digital imagery to process the exorbitant amount of velocity. This often occurs close to the speed of sound…
Another image I recently discovered spurred a question. Randy E., can you explain to the group what it feels like to try and restrain the perfect blend of robustness and speed in the palm of your hand?
Bench racing, or cold hard facts, you decide…
