RE: WHAT GAS TANK DO YOU PREFER??
I try to use Tettra. But alot of models almost require the slim Jett, as long as it's a bladder. Our past club president was making them too for awhile. I still have one good one in a Q40

Any bubbleless tank works for me... I haven't been racing long enough to have any bias. It does seem like most people I race with use the tettra though.

I will only use the Tetra Tanks. I had a couple problems with debris, or blockage in the Jett tanks. They just don't seem as sturdy and strong as the Tetras.
4oz Tetras in the club racers, and 5 1/4 oz tanks in the 428 and 422 racers.
No need for a C.G. tank, the Tettras work great and are bulletproof.

I like the CG tank and have use them exclusively since the beginning. The nice thing I like about Jett tank is the bladder inside are leak proof and puncture resistant and it will not break under high pressure like the Tettra bladder. Just my preference for piece of mine!

I actually have no preference- I reckon they are all equal.......although I am intrigued in the fact that someone says the Jett bladder is stronger!

If you look inside a Jett tank, the bladder are made out of plastic bag and not rubber type bladder. The rubber bladder tend to burst and break after a while or under extended use. Also, the Jett tank come ready to use where as the Tettra, one must set it up. Both tanks works fine if you set it up right, but I prefer the Jett bladder tank due to its durability, which indeed it's a peace of mine for security.

Jett slim tanks for me in all my Q500s. They fit perfectly and as Sam points out, you don't have to assemble them. Sam is also correct that the plastic bag/liner that Dub uses does provide piece of mind.

RE: WHAT GAS TANK DO YOU PREFER??
I have used the tetra tank and liked how it worked, but the bladder DID rupter and left me with a useless tank and No spare parts [].
I was thinking back to why we use the bladder tank, to keep air from entering the fuel and stop foaming. Years ago when flying in the Texas area (pre nelson years) , we were using Supertigers and OS engines with a tuned pipe and crank case pressure. This worked well with regular clunk tanks and gave concistant runs. Does anyone have a good reason for why we dont use crank case pressure? (other than it is illegal and why? )

RE: WHAT GAS TANK DO YOU PREFER??
Personally I like Tetra's. I use them exclusively in Q500, and Q40's other than my Proud Bird's which require the Jett CG tank to fit. I think the thicker, more flexible bladder in the Tetra is more durable. Also, I had the pressure line come out of a Jett once, luckily it was when I was working on the plane on the workbench, and not at a race.....The biggest thing with both tanks is that you shouldn't try filling them until you can't get any more fuel in. Filling the bladders to the max is what will weaken them, in either brand, as they have a greater chance of rubbing against mold flashing or any sharp spots on the inside of the plastic shell. I never put more than about 4.75 oz of fuel in the 5.25 oz Tetra, or 5.5 oz in either the 6 oz Tetra or Jett. In about 12 years of using Tetra's, I've only had one bladder develop a leak, and it was on a two year old tank.
