There is only a few days remaining to register for the December 16th Q-500 424 race at Hodges Hobbies. There was a glitch in the web site registration, so if your name isn’t shown Mac doesn’t have your registration. Please re-register. We are expecting a great turnout. For more registration information contact Mac at 866-924-6505 or by e-mail.

The “29” pilots at the last Hodges Hobbies 424 Q-500 race of 2006 were greeted to warm temperatures, sunny sky’s and light winds. The racing was very tight all day and several racers setting their personal best times with 8 pilots having times under 1:20. We like to welcome new racers Mike Rutchka from NC and his caller Mike Staton from Greer SC. We hope to see these guys more in 2007. Marcus Blanchard debuted the new Chuck Bridge designed 424 Vortex. The Vortex was fast but Marcus’s day ended early in a big cloud of dust behind pylon 3. In the end, James Barr won the “A” race and the season championship and Larry Johnson won the “B” class.

“A” Class
James Barr 25 pts 1:19.00
Bill Johanson 24 pts 1:16.87 FT
Mike Stevens 22 pts 1:20.91

“B” Class
Larry Johnson 27 pts 1:24.89 FT
Don Rusin 21 pts 1:25.00
Billy Moran 20 pts 1:38.36

Pylon racing in the SE is gaining strength and Hodges Hobbies is planning to make 2007 even better. The first race for 2007 will be in early February.

Hi Bill,

thanks for the warm welcome, and for all the help our first time out! We had a great time, and are looking forward to more
races next year. Hodges Hobbies really provided a first class facility to carry out the race, and it was a very well organized
event. Definitely worth the trip!

Mike in NC
