Default Mounting a TT-40 Pro

Hello,
What is the preferred angle to mount the TT-40 Pro engines? Should the engine cylinder be 90 degrees below verticle or dropped even lower? Also what motor mounts are available for the engine?

Thanks
Al

Most mounts position the cylinder about 100 degrees from vertical.

Mounts are carried by: www.jettengineering.com, www.lcsperformance.com and www.pspec.com

Some are doublers to the back plate and require longer backplate
screws and some replace the original backplate with another stuff box. Prices from around 14 to 35 dollars.

Default Backplates

Hi John,
Well thank you very much. I looked at all 3 sites and now I have a question for you and anyone else who might know. Are the monts that replace the stock backplate legal? I read the rules and it does not mention that as one onf the parts you are allowed to replace. I plan on flying some down at Bowie MD and NEPRO if that matters.

A radial backplate mount that replaces the stock backplate may be used as long as it displaces the same crankcase volume. So if you get one from Jett, or Performance Specialties you won't have anything to worry about. Many just use the simple backplate mount with longer screws behind the stock backplate. Good luck and see you at Bowie.

dittos to what Dan just posted. I can only speak for APRA 424 and there they are legal.

The Jett is interchangable with Nelson and tt .40, handy.
