Sounds good Rick. I glued my firewall back in and finished filling the nicks and voids. Shall finish sand tonight and glass for finish. Will paint the clear over the weekend. So I should be ready to go for round 2...LOL
As much as I would like to fly Q40. I think in the interest of you club, we will have more quickee flyers. So I'd just run quickee both days.

OK guys, 1 week out for the SEMPRA season start in Mulberry! If last season wasn't the finish you wanted, the slate is clean and new. Don't let the competition get the jump on you, be here for the first race of the 2008 SEMPRA season. The field will be open Friday morning for practice for all classes. If you are new to a 3 pole race, Rick and I, as well as others, will be there and will be happy to assist you and allow you to run as many laps as you want to get the feel for it. This is a relaxed day of testing, and is perfect for a newby to get to know people and see that 3 pole racing isn't really intimidating. Come out and see!
We look foward to racing next weekend!!!

Randy,
Randy placed 2nd on Saturday with a 1:05.71. Fast time that day was 1:05.62...
Then he had a slight mishap after all the racing was done that kept him from racing on Sunday. You will have to ask him what happened..LOL hehe...HAHA....

ok, first i want to thank IMPERIAL RC CLUB for a great race. the weather was perfect for both days and good racing.
well first. there were two PROFIS. the one that Randy was flying seemed to be fast but not faster that the LS. (at least to my sight). the one that rocket was flying was slower that randy's. i know they did different break in on them. maybe they need more flying time to loosen up some more. maybe Randy will come and talk some more about it. (hopefully when he recovers from the heli accident he had that put him out for sunday.)
now, the funny part was seeinf randy on the floor and being worry about his wife getting pissed about the heli cause she told him not to fly it.
PS we got some pictures but i got to find them

Hey guys, thanks for coming and I am glad all you guys had a great time. I will post the results for you tomorrow. (forgot them at work!!) Randy is a tough guy, you guys quit picking on him! I will let him talk about the Profi engine, but I think it showed great promise for an engine that wasn't even broke in yet! I should be in the market about the time we know for sure. I will be announcing our next race date soon for the 4th annual Southern 500.
See you soon....

RE: MULBERRY FLORIDA, OCTOBER 20-21, 2007
The new Profi Quickee motor. First off, it runs really smooth.. And needles very easy, just like the Nelson SS engines did. Ray Brown and myself practiced Friday as a team effort, in order to learn as much as possible about the new engine and find the sweet spot. I ran every possible head and prop setting that you can think of. I ran the head super low, with the 8.8x8.75 & 9.25.. I ran the head up with smaller props, looking for that huge unload.. The Profi I had would turn the 8.8x8.75 about 19,2 at best with a .004 under the head. And the 8.8x9.25 with the head lower would static about 19,3…but it wouldn't unload with the head really low. So after 15 flights of practice, I was pretty wore out from pulling the head off and changing props. My best time the next day was a high 1:08…with the 8.8x8.75 and that .004 under the head. Which was 3 seconds off fast time.
The only comparison info I have is straight from Profi America. They said that there test engines turn the 8.8x9.25 about 19,6 or 19,7 (which is about 1,000 better than mine)… and they claim that the 8.8x9.0 turns over 20k (still way better than mine). And they are seeing 184mph on the radar gun (I might have been in the high 160's, at best with a Chuck Bridge Vortex). So after talking with them on the phone, my motor will go back to them for proper set up. Maybe I'm missing something and they can get it up to speed better than I…?? I did everything that I could think of to balance making horsepower and going fast.
Ray Brown played with liner shims and saw no increases in speed. His engine just never came up to speed at all. The 1:05 I turned was with a Nelson LS, 8.8x8.75 turning 20,2k…
Conclusion… I thought the engine I had ran too good to be a bad engine?? We'll let the Profi guys figure out how to squeeze 3 more seconds out of it.
