DX-6i beware of drum roller break down
Hi!
Must tell what I experienced today after one week with the DX-6i.
The drum roller suddenly broke from one of its mounts when I sat fiddling with the radio.
I dismantled the radio and found that the roller axle which enters the potentiometer had broke . The axle is just made of 2mm plastic.
What rubbish!
Did not want to send it in for repair so sat wondering what to do. I finally sat the drum roller in the lathe and drilled a 2mm hole in which I glued in a 2mm carbon axle that I filed hexagon at one end ( It's a hexagon hole in the potentiometer).Everything worked out just fine. But it was a pain filing that small hexagon axle.
But now it's better than new!
Hope Horizon Hobbies improves the roller drum...as it is now they are going to have lots of people complaining.
