Vtail mixing -JR8103?
Hello everyone, I am new to Q500. I just bought a Viper 500.
Does anyone know if I can use my JR8103 to fly this plane? If I can use a JR8103, give me some pointers on how to set the radio up for Vtail operation. Thanks for the help. |

Hi,
1. Hold both left input keys down and turn the Tx. on, go to Type SEL. and select GLID and turn off. 2. Hold both left input keys down and turn the Tx. on again and scroll to Wing Type. 3. From there you can activate the V-tail function. Have fun, Jacob |

Like Jacob says, the 8103 has v-tail mixing in Glider Mode. The spoileron channel works the same as throttle. Do check that the mixes are turned off in Glider mode. It seems that there is an aileron-something mix on the Aux. 3 knob that the default setting is on. In other words, you turn the knob and it adjusts your aileron trim.

You must inhibit Pot #5. This is the one that makes your aileron trims go funny.

One of the advantages of Joining the NMPRA is you get usefull information. The following is a copy from the newsletter, written by Vern Smith.
On top of the Transmitter right side is a knob marked "Aux 3" this has to be disabled (Inhibited). It affects affects the servo centering in glider mode (Vee- Tail) To inhibit, Go to the menu item [D/FLAP T.] TRIM and press the + or - button until INH appears on the screen. This will inhibit the Aux 3 knob. Ed S |
