initimidator

I am thinking about buying a Q500 intimidator kit from national balsa for my first kit and pylon racer, I will have an experienced ex-pylon racer helping me build it but I would like to know how it flies what the kit comes with, landing gear, wheels, engine mount, etc. and where I need to buy stuff I can't get on towerhobbies. I am also wondering if the high wing or the low wing kit will be better and what servos, battery, reciever, etc. I should get.

Thanks,
Andy

Hi Andy,
Call National Balsa directly, Eric will give you all the information you need. Great guy to deal with. Is is a real nice flying plane, there are plenty of them flying with NEPRO. I would go with the high wing version, it does fly better. Also take a look at the Racer II from Bill and Dave Norman maybe able to help you out with a Seeker, they fly real nice too! My 2 kits will be out in about another month or so, but if you want to get started now, take a look at these others, you can't go wrong.

I can't comment on the Racer II but I can on the Seeker... I built one this year and it goes together very easily, and flies great. I will suggest that if you are going to be driving very far to race that you build 2 planes:D Unfortunately, racers don't have a long life span. All it takes is one bad landing and you're done for the day, let alone the possibility of a mid-air.... Build 2, it makes for a longer day at the field. Just my .02 worth.

Seeker needs:

3 or 4 Hitec 225 servos (can use a mini on throttle)
Landing gear and wheels (Talk to Lewis and he can hook you up)
Hitec 555 Rx
270 mAh battery
2 roles of Covering
A screaming engine of some kind:D

That's what I remember anyway...Did I miss anything Dave??
