Q 500 aerofoil
 

hello guys!

I am writting from Greece and i I manufacture my own Q500 airplane. did you have any internet site or any plan for the airfoil? Next year i flight the great Planes viper 500 with nelson engines and they flight enough fast , But now one friend buy a cnc machine and i am looking to make my Q500 with epoxy wing.

Just got done flying today with my Viper/Nelson. Lots of fun, 158 MPH on the radar gun. Not bad for an ARF and an old tired Nelson. The case is so bashed up, the carb just barely stays in.

I will sugested two airfoils mh 18b or naca 66-012 both are good maybe with a naca 66-012 you can get a faster airplane if you have good thumbs, but must be careful with construction to keep the airfoil acurate.

Profili is a very good program to generate airfoil coordinates and can export cor. archives for cnc foam cutting machines.

The current US Q500 record of 103.?? held by Travis Flynn as well as the previous record of 103.94 held by Randy Bridge were set with Chuck Bridge's Vortex. The Vortex uses a NACA 66-12 airfoil.

did you know anyone of you who can i find the NACA 66-12 airfoil? i found the MH -18b and NACA 64-012..

Vortex airfoil is naca 66-012, it is a symetrical airfoil.

Buy the software CompuFoil at www.compufoil.com. It has every thing you need for a DXF file to run the cnc machine, also has all NACA airfoils.
