Great Planes Hinge Slotter - what power
I recently purchased a Great Planes Hinge Slot tool through Tower Hobbies.
However, I live in a country where the standard voltage is 230v not 110v, so will need to purchase a transformer before I can use the Slotter. These are available here in a range of VA values with a corresponding range of prices!
Can anybody please tell me the VA rating or the current draw of the Slotter, as Tower are unable to supply that info?
Thanks,
William[]

Mine does not say how many Amps is draws on the label. It says "120 V 50 / 60 Hz". I would guess it uses less than one amp (100 watts), just by looking at it.

RE: Great Planes Hinge Slotter - what power
Thanks for the comments, folks.
To summerwind and DMcQuinn - yes, that's the trouble with the label - it doesn't specify Watts as you would normally expect.
To tacx - I imagine there aren't too many of these around in NZ but I will try on a local forum., something I had not thought of. Thanks.
I can't plug it in to test for myself, because I expect that our 230v would cause overheating or other failure of the tool!
Thanks again,
William

I just picked up one of these yesterday. In the instruction manual under the specifications it gives info for a North American model (110/120 v 60 Hz AC) and aEuropean model (220/230 v 50 Hz AC). That's all the info it says but you could contact Great Planes at [email protected].
