Default Winter is coming!!

Now that winter is coming, I cant fly before or after work! []

Ive abandoned my HZ super cub in pieces 4 or 5 months ago. Guess I will have to put it back together so I can fly at lunch time.

I've been considering a scale project to occupy me for the winter. Luckily the weather in Ohio is much more conducive to long flying seasons than Vermont - 87 degrees today!! Going to a new field on Wednesday to meet the club and try flying - paved runway, should be nice for a scale airliner or private EDF jet.

Guys apparently fly indoor here over the winter, planes from fancyfoam.com and others.

Have a link to the HZ supercub? There's a big space right outside work that I could fly a park flyer in. [8D]

I've also heard rumors that winter was approaching. No problem though because I'm going to start my first build, a Mountain Models SwitchBack Sr. Really looking forward to this one. Oh yeah, we fly indoors at a large gym not too far away, about 35-40 miles.

Yes, there is a winter here, it even snows but compared to other places I have been there is nothing at all to complain about, I fly all year long just like in Calif. Last year the dry lake bed I fly on was under water a lot but we just flew off of it farther south or went to the Lake Mead field. I just spent 7 hours flying Friday and 4 hours Sunday. Long pants were required on Friday though but I was back in shorts and tee shirt again Sunday. Winter on the lake bed will be in the low 30s but the sun will be shining!! It is getting dark early though and I'm able to stay in bed until 6 now. Daylight savings time will mess us up again, wish they would just leave that alone. Winter isn't a problem, it's that working stuff that gets in the way!!!

There is a winter in Las Vegas?
Its not the temp, its the lack of light.

That was my round about point, not long before that daylight savings crap messes us up again. I'm just starting to enjoy the sheets a bit longer now. Spring time I start going out in the evenings and as soon as the sun goes behind the mountain you better be landing!! I put lights in my new plane and they were really cool looking. As soon as i got it covered and started to hook them up I tested them again and they don't work at all??? Maybe touching the bulbs with a soldering iron when I was cutting the covering messed them up, little LEDs??
I have to laugh at people that come here in December thinking it's warm and bringing nothing but shorts and Tees to wear, it's a high desert!!! It even rains once in a while. Not often enough but it happens. Friday it was 54 in the morning and 84 later in the day. Fall is starting to fall and sparking up the BBQ at my normal times is just like Scooter said, dark comes fast!!

Can you guys send me some snow down here in SW Florida? lol This is the best part of the year for me to fly to beat the heat and humidity. I wish I was back up north with you guysI miss the seasons.

Put some LED's on it and fly at night.! It's lot's of fun.!!
I've actually got a Super Cub, T-28, J-3, Slo-v, and a Firebird Freedom all rigged up with lights and I have flown them all at night on my lunch break when I was on midnight shifts. The Slo-v and the Super Cub are the easiest to keep track of, but the T-28 is the most fun if you have a partially lighted area like the edge of a parking lot to fly from.

BUILDING TIME
Funny thing is I do most of my building from the spring to late summer?? My shop has air conditioning and it is light out until 9:30. When it gets dark early I sort of slip out of the building mood??
