Default Solo prop questions

Can the blades by infinitely adjusted? Solo props told me through e-mail they can without the "actuating mechanism inside". My goal is to turn the blades enough so that I can make a pusher prop. If anybody has a Solo prop will you study it and determine if I can or not? Thanks a lot!

No you can not make a pusher prop by just turning the blades. However, they do make a reverse pitch prop if I read their web site correctly.

Where did you find that?

We now have clockwise rotation blades for that must have twin.

Do you think that would work in my pusher application?

Yes, you do turn the prop around so the leading edge of the airfoil is correct for the direction that the engine turns. But in general with the normal direction engines run, when you use it in a pusher design you use a reverse rotation prop.

My goal is to turn the blades enough so that I can make a pusher prop.
If the mechanism would allow you to rotate each blade 180 degrees over itself, the airfoil would be backwards; hence, you would get some pushing force, but not enough.

Looking from the back of your boat, a rear-facing engine will spin the propeller counterclocwise and will push the air away from itself, instead of towards itself like in puller crafts.

Check this thread for some pictures:

Ask them is the pusher props they offer are suitable for internal combustion engines, since no many twins have counter-rotating engines.

The helical twist inherent to a prop blade from the root to the time is what precludes doing this. Not the mechanism at the hub.
